Becky Schlegel and her band, along with Jack Norton and his group, The Mullet River Boys, will perform at the Crystal Ballroom and Event Center, 4947 W. Broadway, in Crystal, Minn., on Friday, March 24, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and music beginning at 7:30 p.m. Garrison Keillor describes Becky as "an Angel-voiced up-and-comer," and she has been named "Bluegrass Artist of the Year" by the Minnesota Music Academy numerous times. Stylistically different than Schlegel, "vaudeville-bluegrass" entertainer Jack Norton draws from many of the same influences as Becky. "I think we both enjoy classic country singers like Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn and Ernest Tubb," he said. The Washington Post recently hailed Norton as "a near brilliant songwriter." Tickets are available at the Homestead Pickin’ Parlor (Richfield, MN) or online at www.jacknorton.net and www.beckyschlegel.com For more information, call (612) 636-0563.
