Art from the Heart: Throughout November, Abbott Northwestern Hospital’s Institute for Health and Healing will present "Art From the Heart," an exhibit featuring the words and images of artists who used art to help them overcome physical and emotional challenges. Mystical Visions Gala Fundraiser: The pilot episode of "Just Breathe – Part 1" will be presented from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, by Smokin’ Yogi Visions at Karma Nightclub, 315 1st Ave. N., in downtown Minneapolis. World Voices: Conducted by internationally recognized Dr. Karle Erickson, the World Voices Ensemble begins its concert season with the rich variety of music from Scandinavian countries with two performances of "Voyaging With the Vikings" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Wayzata Community Church, 125 E. Wayzata Blvd., and its seventh annual "World Voices: Peace On Earth" at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 at Central Lutheran Church, 333 S. 12th St., in downtown Minneapolis. The World Voices Ensemble enhances the awareness and deepen the meaning of the cultural, spiritual and religious roots of music from around the world, some of which are sung in native languages. The chorale has presented music from 67 countries and 35 languages in its 10-year history. "Voyaging with the Vikings" will include Norwegian folk tune "Killibukken," an Icelandic lament for women’s voices and oboe and the jubilant dance tune "Domaredansen." Indigenous Voices: A world premiere of Falemalama: House of Understanding, the story of a Samoan woman’s journey to New Zealand in the 1970s, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on November 16-18 by Pangea World Theater at Intermedia Arts, 2822 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis. The Indigenous Voices Production presents an artistically powerful and inspiring performance by New Zealand playwright and artist Dianna Fuemana.
