Another Place, Another Time: The Reincarnation of Crazy Horse
by C.D. Montana, 332 pages, Coramer Books, available at Amazon.com

Reincarnation is real, and author C.D. Montana is living evidence. Her new book, Another Place, Another Time, describes the extraordinary story of how the spirit world taught her about a past life as the legendary Lakota warrior Crazy Horse. In combination with this unusual experience, Montana has a second string to her bow. She reveals she has a close relationship with a spirit guide, Maryanne. "I know I am luckier than most, to know of and be able to communicate so well with her," says Montana, who became directly aware of Maryanne in 2002, when she began learning about spirit guides from books. For several years Maryanne and many other spirits have helped Montana to uncover proof of her past life as Crazy Horse. They led Montana through the Black Hills in South Dakota, to the Beaver Valley in Nebraska, and to the grave of Crazy Horse, a site unknown to any other living person. Montana describes the startling moment of discovery in her book: "Keep looking you’ll know where you’re buried," I kept walking around, and finally I just stared at an area about ten feet to my left. The voice got even louder in my head. I made my way over to it and stared. The voice stopped. I knew I had found the place where Crazy Horse was buried. At the gravesite, Montana found tattered pieces of heavy red fabric, made significant with the known fact that the body of Crazy Horse was wrapped in a red blanket before burial.

Live in Santa Cruz
by Hamsa Lila, two CD audio discs, available at www.hamsalila.com
Four years since the critically acclaimed release of its debut album, Gathering One, Hamsa Lila is back with its first ever live release, Live in Santa Cruz, a double album that captures Hamsa Lila at its height of energy, cohesion and musical potency. Famed for their "twilight through break of dawn" performances at Burning Man, Hamsa Lila filters first-hand knowledge of ritualistic and tribal music from around the globe through modern dance music to create something wholly new and completely mesmerizing. Blending the rootsy sound of the bass-like camel-skinned Guimbri from Jajouka, these two instruments from Morocco create resonant grooves that spiral around West African drums, while ethereal flutes, worldwinds and the impassioned soul-waking sounds of the saxophone weave through powerful male and female vocal chants and lush harmonies. The songs contain mesmerizing and trance inducing rhythms and melodies, producing an atmosphere of euphoria.
