An Interview with Susan Just

What was the most sacred moment you have had in your life?
Susan Just:
Like many people, in my early twenties I was full of conflicting emotions like shyness, confidence, inadequacy and anger. At times I would just shred myself with self-loathing, disgust and fear. During a party, I was in the living room by myself and I got into one of these cycles. And then suddenly, I had this vision: It was Mother Mary and she was talking to me. Now, I’m not Catholic, but I knew it was her spirit and that was the name that came to me.

She gave me a vision of my hands cupped together and in the center was this small luminous pool of yellow white light. She said, "This is your soul. It’s young, innocent and still growing. You must take care of it, love it, and guide it compassionately." It was simple. It was direct. It was loving. It helped me know that I wasn’t alone.

Ultimately, I believe she was telling the older aspect of my soul that it needed to be more nurturing and more careful of this human existence and this new soul experience that I was creating. Also by seeing my soul, I became more aware of everyones’ souls and the journey that we’re on together. I became more aware of how I can affect people and myself for good or negative.

Why are you optimistic about the future of humanity in this time of uncertainty and fear?
SJ:
I’m optimistic for humanity because it’s not about winning a war. Our success is based on every single act of kindness, love or altruism. It’s the ongoing momentum of these actions that allow us to continue our forward motion. To the greatest good for all.

What holistic practice is a part of your life to help you maintain health and wellness and to connect with your spiritual Self?
SJ:
I believe in all religions, all spirituality. In essence, though, I am the great unwashed. I am very simple. I tend to walk the middle way, which is somewhat Taoist or Buddhist in practice. It takes the least energy and is the most sustainable for longevity.

I also practice 7th Path Self Hypnosis. It helps me clear my subconscious of fears, misperceptions and limiting beliefs so I have more energy for my life. Sometimes I feel like I’m in the center of a hurricane, but the wall clouds are far, far away. I also teach 7th Path Self Hypnosis. What’s great is that it doesn’t replace any other holistic or spiritual practice. It helps make those practices even more strong and pervasive.

What single message do you want to share with us from your heart?
SJ:
"This is your soul. It’s young, innocent and still growing. You must take care of it, love it, and guide it compassionately."
