cd_concertLOOKING FOR A SOULFUL way to bring in the summer? Singer-songwriter James Schattauer will present an evening of conscious music from his new album, “One,” from 7-8:30 p.m. at Spirit United Church, 3204 Como Ave. SE, Minneapolis. The event is sponsored by The Edge. The CD is free with the $15 admission cost.

Joining Schattauer onstage will be local icons Dean Magraw on guitar and Mary Louise Knutson on piano with Marshall Davis on bass and percussion.

Schattauer is a three-time Minnesota Music Award nominee and has been playing professionally for more than 30 years. His award winning music has been published nationally with hundreds of performances around the Midwest, including special invitations to play in Japan and on the island of Kauai.

James endears his audiences with the whimsical and poignant stories. At a recent concert an audience member exclaimed, “You sang to me just what I needed to hear!” As a musical mystic and a lover of melody, Schattauer spins a concert that celebrates the universal heart.
