National Ayurvedic Medical Association announces 12th annual conference

ayurveda-wideThe National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) recently announced its 12th annual conference, “Ayurveda Tomorrow – Be the Change,” April 14-17 in Warwick, Rhode Island at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
 
This pioneering national conference provides Ayurvedic professionals, integrative/holistic health care practitioners and medical doctors with professional development, networking opportunities and camaraderie. In recent years, the Ayurvedic community has seen significant growth in practitioners, students and clients; evidence of the growing demand for natural and holistic approaches to health and wellness.
 
“Our conference committee has worked tirelessly to present a varied program offering substantial educational opportunities for a wide range of practitioners,” says conference manager Lisa Boldin. “There is something for everyone, including educational breakout sessions, presentations by esteemed Ayurvedic professionals, morning yoga and meditation, and Ayurveda-related products for purchase.”
 
World-renowned speakers include Dr. Vasant Lad, a preeminent Ayurvedic Doctor in the U.S. and author of 11 books. Respected throughout the world for his Ayurvedic knowledge, Dr. Lad will offer “Ayurveda and the Mind,” a discussion of the role of the mind, soul and body in health and illness.

A special Saturday night banquet will feature keynote speaker, Dr. David Frawley presenting the “Art and Science of Vedic Counseling.” Frawley is an American Hindu teacher and author who recently received the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award from the President of India for his pioneering work in Ayurveda, Yoga and Vedic Studies.

More than 19 sessions will be offered, covering everything from topics in Ayurvedic nutrition to clinical and research opportunities for Ayurvedic professionals. A bustling exhibitor hall will feature a plethora of Ayurvedic herbs and oils, a bookstore, Ayurvedic educational organizations, and products intended for the Ayurvedic professional.
