Why Fear Death?

Assante,-Julia

Death is the most ordinary of life's occurrences. It happens all the time, every nanosecond, all across the globe. So why are we so afraid of it? The truth is, our society thrives on the fear of death. Most of today's institutions not only produce it, they exploit it. Our government keeps us in perpetual vigilance against life threats -- an anti-Western nation, a failing economy, terrorist attacks. The defense department's kill-or-be-killed policy, which extends to gun control, not only … [Read more...]

My Struggle with Fear, Being True

abstract_blue_form

Our featured topic: Coping with Fear After the sudden death of my 20-year old daughter in 2003, amazing experiences of signs and messages from her were all around me. I was led to an amazing medium and teacher and I began to wonder if these experiences were common -- did this happen to everyone? I didn't think so, but I was clueless as to why they were happening to me. I loved them -- they brought me much needed peace and consolation -- but why? Please keep them coming, I would plead … [Read more...]

Fear, blindness and vision

eye_chart

Our featured topic: Coping with Fear I'm going blind. Little by little. Well, maybe. Five years ago, I had murky glue over part of my left eye some mornings. The ophthalmologist said, "It's a cataract." I said, "It comes and goes each day." He said nothing. I wondered if he heard what I said. And one day it stayed, and gradually clouded over completely. Not so bad. A little bit harder driving at night. The only thing I can't do is play ping-pong. I don't trust surgery, except maybe … [Read more...]

Fearology

fearful

One of the biggest limitations we all face, as we try to find this point of power, is fear. No one escapes this limitation in some form or another. Once, early in my consciousness studies, I was ruminating on the idea of power. I decided I would look for my power in a meditation. Once still and quiet, I looked around and saw a ladder leading up. I climbed for a very long time up beyond the clouds, and came to the edge of a wall. Over that wall, I knew I would find my power. I peered over that … [Read more...]

De-Emphasizing Fear – Notes on darkness and illumination

fear_woman

In the midst of the accumulating "dark" or introspective energies of the Northern Hemisphere's winter months, I can't help but notice the parallels to our outer world, where fear is being created in greater and greater abundance. But is the creation of fear really happening successfully? Or are enough people seeing this constant Chicken Little "the sky is falling" attitude around events as something else? I am in the midst of wondering about darkness and the role lightworkers and those who … [Read more...]

Curing phobias, fears and anxiety with hypnosis

spiral_staircase

Many people suffer from irrational fears or phobias. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, the percentage of people with anxiety disorders has been on the rise in recent years and continues to increase. These types of fears are situations where a person harbors irrational fears about something that, in reality, poses little or no danger. People often refer to these reactions as fears, phobias or anxiety interchangeably, and they all respond very quickly and positively to … [Read more...]

Negative Revelations

girl_sad

On any given day, you can overhear people offer negative information about themselves in an effort to assuage the person they're talking to. For instance, Bob is tardy for a team meeting at work. His co-worker, Tanya, tells him not to worry about it. She arrived late herself, because she forgot a report on her desk. Tanya could have simply told Bob not to worry about being late. In this situation and billions of others, people offer up something negative about themselves to make someone else … [Read more...]

The Cost of Fear

I had an experience recently with one of my cats that got me thinking about fear. She had a lump in her mammary gland that the vet said was cancer. We scheduled a surgery to have it removed a week-and-a-half from the original vet visit. As soon as we got home, I did research on what nutritional, homeopathic and energetic healing methods would best help her. I implemented several of them and in a week the tumor had shrunk by half. So I was faced with a decision: continue with the holistic … [Read more...]

I recently read in a Pittsburgh Tribune online article about 8-year-old James Leininger, who has been reliving memories of a past life: that of Lt. James McCready Huston, a World War II fighter pilot from Uniontown who was killed near Iwo Jima more than 50 years before James was born. Maybe many of you have heard this story by now, as his story is documented in the book Soul Survivor: The Reincarnation of a World War II Fighter Pilot (2009, Grand Central Publishing). James experienced … [Read more...]

Hypnosis & The Fear of Fear

hypnosis

There's an amusing and very enterprising sign on a restaurant tip jar near my office. It says: "Fear Change? Leave it behind...." I always smile when I see it, but it's a somewhat rueful smile. You see, I'm in the business of change. I'm also in the business of fear. I'm a hypnotherapist. But, I don't program people. I de-program them. I help people lose weight, gain weight, stop smoking, increase confidence, have more rewarding relationships or careers, even lose fears and phobias like … [Read more...]

Alchemy – Turning Fear into Love

self

Archangel Metatron describes alchemy as "Changing the frequency of thought, altering the harmonics of matter, and applying the elements of love to create a desired result." Alchemy is more than just a process of transmuting base metals into gold...alchemy is the way to transmute fear into love. This is a way of living life with awareness and intention, returning us to a conscious relationship with Creator. In this two-part series, let's explore Metatron's description of alchemy. The Fear Pandemic

As I write this, we are in the middle of a fear outbreak. Right now, it is classified as a stage 4 fear outbreak, but the risk of it turning into a fear pandemic is high. By the time you read this, of course, the latest trigger (the swine flu) may very well have turned out to be much ado about nothing. But, don't worry, there is bound to be another thing to fear right around the corner. I think, perhaps, we should appoint a commission to monitor it and perhaps throw a whole lot of money into … [Read more...]

Addiction robs you of your Greatness

addiction_0309topic7

Besides the obvious physical additions some experience to things like drugs, cigarettes and alcohol, an addiction also can be considered anything that we use on a regular basis to distract us from pursuing our dreams. Rather than taking the time to go within, get to know ourselves or to do the work we need that will allow us to move forward, often we non-consciously use our addictions as our excuse. Do you choose to habitually watch television, share your dramatizing victim stories, gossip … [Read more...]
