The Association for Global New Thought works for planetary transformation based on universal spiritual truths, reflecting core teachings of the world’s great spiritual traditions. It focuses on peace, justice, healing, and self-realization.

Unity World Day of Prayer is a worldwide prayer activity designed to raise the spiritual awareness of humankind through a united expression of faith. All events are free and are open to the public. The event was first observed in 1994. It is organized by Unity and its transdenominational prayer ministry, Silent Unity. Millions of people have been the focus of prayer during special Unity World Day of Prayer vigils held each year at many of the nearly 900 Unity churches and centers around the world. Last year, the names of an estimated 1.3 million people were prayerfully acknowledged during the prayer vigil at Unity Village.

"At Unity, we know that prayer works," said Unity president Charlotte Shelton. "We host World Day of Prayer as an opportunity for humankind to experience a transformation of health, abundance, and love on a global level."

Fire, walk with me

STILLWATER, Minn. – Unlimited Network™ founder Arne Rantzen will lead an evening of Firewalking and fellowship from 5-10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, near Stillwater. Organizers say the Unlimited Firewalk™ is an opportunity to "celebrate your highest potential and overcome your fears through the powerful feat of walking on fire."

Event producer Shannon Helland, owner of Living and Breathing Wellness, notes that the goal of walking on fire "is to have a tangible experience of dissipating your fears and saying ‘yes’ to fully expressing your aliveness."

"Imagine standing in front of a bed of blazing coals," she says, "completely engaged in the present moment, in harmony with yourself and the fire. All of your weaknesses, fears, and doubts up to this moment have been brought with you. But now you can make a choice, a choice to move beyond all of this. With the permission granted to yourself and from the fire, a surge of inspiration moves through you from your core. You step across the fire, saying ‘yes’ to your aliveness as people witness your mastery and cheer you on."

For information or to register, contact Helland at (952) 835-2751 or e-mail [email protected].

From churches to temples of initiation

MINNEAPOLIS – Rev. Carol E. Parrish, Ph.D., founder and dean of Sancta Sophia Seminary, will present the lecture "From Churches to Temples of Initiation" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Spirit United Church, located just west of highway 280 at 3204 Como Avenue SE.

A fee of $15 is payable at the door.

This lecture will address the transformative power of these times, with a focus on religion. Rev. Parrish explains that we are shifting into a new era – one could call it movement from ray to ray – that demands that civilizations die or transform. In these times we can easily grow disillusioned, or we can seek to perceive the subtle messages that will guide humanity through the changing of the ages.

Challenged to perceive the new approaches emerging from inner reality, ‘soul-infused’ individuals are to bring the subjective one world religion to outer form. The emerging Temples of Initiation will call all to embrace soul-infusion and love-wisdom, Parrish says.

Miracle of the Breath

ST. PAUL – Andy Caponigro, the internationally known "master of breath," is a former concert guitarist who has been healing people with the powers of the breath since the early 1970s. His private sessions and workshops have provided remarkably effective help for hundreds of people suffering from chronic illnesses and deep-rooted psychological problems which conventional approaches have failed to help.

Caponigro will return to the Twin Cities for a one-day workshop on The Miracle of the Breath, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.

In his book, The Miracle of The Breath: Mastering Fear, Healing Illness and Experiencing the Divine (New World Library), Caponigro describes the powerful systems of breath-control developed by great Hindu yogis and Chinese sages for mastering fear, healing illness and attaining the state of enlightenment. These ancient systems of breath control possess such remarkable powers, because they tap into the spiritual life-force that gives our breath its life-sustaining powers. The Hindus call this life-force Prana; The Chinese call it Chi. Hebrews call it the Breath of Life; Christians call it the Holy Spirit.

Workshop participants will learn a special set of meditation, movement and breathing techniques which act directly to dissolve pain, fear and tension from the mind and body. These techniques are easy to learn and can be practiced at home on a daily basis.

Tuition is $275, and space is limited. For registration or other information, call Mary McNellis at (651) 351-7203 or visit www.miracleofthebreath.com.

Groning lectures coming to U.S.

In tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birthday of German miracle healer Bruno Groning (1906-1959), a series of 140 public lectures will take place throughout North America this fall, encompassing 45 of the U.S. states and six Canadian provinces.

Medical doctors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will lecture about Groning’s remarkable healings. All events will be free of charge, and each of the lecturing physicians will be speaking without remuneration. Those who are looking for help and healing, or want to experience the life force in their own body, are welcome to attend.

Inconceivable healings, even from so-called incurable diseases, occurred during Groning’s public lectures. In 1949, his name became a household word in Germany overnight. Reports about him appeared in the press, in newsreels and on the radio. His reported healings were violently and controversially debated by everyone, at all levels of society. Some considered his miraculous healings a gift of grace, while others viewed Groning a charlatan. The reality of the healings were confirmed by medical examinations.

Groning spoke of a higher power that comes from God. He called it the Divine power, the life force and the "healing current." He said anyone who knows its laws can take it in freely, and use it to gain help and healing.

Lectures will take place in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois this fall. All lecture dates and locations will be listed soon at: www.bruno-groening.org/english/vortrag/defaultvortrag.htm. For more information, visit www.bruno-groening.org/english or call (972) 282-1858.
