around the Twin Cities, the Healing Forum will present information about various
forms of hands-on healing modalities, and a question-and-answer session will follow.

a four-minute healing by the guest practitioners and their trained volunteers.

The forum will be moderated by Carol Lowell, business partner with Echo Bodine at
The Center, a healing and intuitive arts teaching center in South Minneapolis. Carol
has the gifts of clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience (sensing) and clairvoyance

Echo Bodine and Carol Lowell spoke with Edge Life at The Center in South Minneapolis
    about the upcoming Healing Forum.

How would you describe the type of healing that you do, Echo?
    Echo Bodine:
Laying-on-hands healing. Our form of healing is very simple. We
simply lay our hands on people, we ask spirit to do the healing. And we use the hankies,
    too.
Carol Lowell: The whole thing with the hankies is very interesting.

    What does that mean?
    Echo:
When I was told I had the gift of healing, the woman who told me said,
"There are two things I’m supposed to tell you. One, the healing energy comes
from God, not you. And two, always use hankies underneath your hands when you’re
    channeling energy."
And she said, "I don’t really know why you’re supposed to do that, but at some
point you’ll probably understand it." So I’ve always used hankies under my hands
when I channel healing, and Carol does too. And we teacher are students to use them.

On the head or anywhere on the body?
    Carol:
Anywhere on the body that we channel healing to.
Echo: Wherever we put our hands, we have hankies. One of our students actually
made us little hankie mitts and sometimes I wear those, but they get really hot inside.

I think the hankies protect us from absorbing anything from the client. Also, just
on a practical level sometimes our hands get so hot that we start sweating, so that
protects them clients from that. It seems to set up a little boundary between us,
with the client underneath the hankie and the healer on top of the hankie.

We also have a program called the Healing Pen Pal Program. Anybody in the world can
request healing from us, and there are two ways that we do it. First of all, we have
85 advanced healers who send their healing. The program is totally on a volunteer
basis. We don’t get paid for it. We’ve gotten letters from Israel, Japan, Germany,
Australia and New Zealand. People write to us or e-mail us and ask for healing, and
then a healer is assigned to that person. The healer sends healing to that person
for 30 days. Now we’re doing it for two weeks, because we’re getting so many requests
that the healers are just bombarded. The other way that we do this healing is by
filling up hankies with healing energy, and then we mail them out to people all over
    the world.

A couple years ago, probably the last time I taught a healing class, a lady came
up to me and said that her father in the 1920s and 1930s was a spiritual healer.
And she said that when she read that we use hankies, she knew that we were the real
deal, because her father always used hankies when he channeled healing.

    Carol: That’s neat.
Echo: I thought that was really cool.

So you will have hankies at the Forum?
    Echo:
    Oh, yeah.
Carol: You’ll be able to tell our students from the other students, because
    our students have the hankies.

How do each of you define "healing?"
    Echo:
I think of healing energy as coming from God, and it’s an energy that can
heal anything – a mental, emotional, physical, spiritual situation. For a long time,
I used to think that God was up in Heaven and that He was sending healing energy
down and I was receiving it through my body. Now I believe healing energy comes from
the God part of me, within me, and it just comes forward. The energy is very powerful.
It can heal absolutely anything. We’ve seen instantaneous healings. You can see in
our students that they feel really humbled by it, and honored by it, that they get
to be a channel for healing.
Carol: I also think of healing as an energy. And even if people put limitations
on themselves by saying, "Oh, this could never be healed," it can. It’s
amazing when someone will come in for one thing and something else will be healed
    – and they’ll be so thrilled.

What misconception does the general public have about healing?
    Echo:
Most people think that when Jesus placed his hands on people, they got
instantly healed. So people expect that they should be instantly healed. On one hand
they expect it, but then on the other hand, if they do become healed, their own self-worth
issues get in the way and they’re totally shocked if they get better.
Carol: And then there’s fear. What if they do get better? Then they have to
step up to the plate with their life of getting a full time job instead of staying
at home and letting people take care of them.

That goes into a whole different issue of why we get sick in the first place.
    Echo:
    Oh, does it ever!

What do you hope the public takes away from the Healing Forum experience?
    Carol:
I want everyone to have a well-rounded experience. I want them to feel
excited to venture out and try new things. I want them to experience it and to have
    a wonderful experience.
Echo: I want them to know that it really is real, you know? It’s not some
hokey little thing. You are going to see several different kind of healers, and we
all do it differently. It doesn’t matter how we’re doing it, because it’s all the
same energy. What I want people to really get is that it works, and that it’s available
to them. If they’ve got some religious stuff in the way about it, get it out of the
way and go to a healer and get some help. Right?

If you were coming to the Healing Forum, what question would you have for yourself
and how would you answer it?
    Carol:
I would ask, "How do you know it works?" I know it works because
I’ve had people lying on my table saying, "Is anything happening?" And
I can feel this wonderful healing energy coming out of my hands. I can feel the heat,
and as the healing energy is going into the person, I can feel their pain coming
out of their body, raising up out of their body so that I can pull it away. I can
see them becoming calmer. I can feel it without a doubt.
Echo: And I guess I’d want to ask somebody, "What does it feel like when
you’re channeling healing?"And my answer is, it feels warm. My hands heat up.
There’s an energy and a fullness there. I know that this energy is not me, but something
    that is coming through me.
And we’re looking at issues of the physical body, but yet we’re looking at issues
of the soul. We’re listening to guidance, and we’re listening to our intuition. All
these things are going on and we just have to pay attention. And yet, at the same
time, we have stay out of our head and just let Spirit continue to work through us.
Gosh! It’s cool! You feel so honored to be a part of somebody’s healing process.

    What is your life purpose?
    Carol:
My life purpose is just to try to be the best person that I can and to
help people as much as possible in the way that I know how, which is through healing
and Spirit work, and just to do a good job.
Echo: Being a teacher. Teaching people that they can do this and teaching
in any and every form that comes to me.

Who was your greatest inspiration in leading you to your purpose?
    Echo:
    Jesus.
    Carol: Echo!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of what you do?
    Carol:
When what we do affects our students or our clients. When they’re just
in shock that it really does work. And when students realize they do have the ability
    to channel healing.
Echo: When they have the Ah-hah moments.
Carol: When they start discovering things.
Echo: And then they go out on their own and they’re doing healings and psychic
work. They move to other states and it becomes this great ripple effect.

Why did you choose to be a part of Edge Life Expo?
    Echo:
Because it’s a great way to reach the community.
Carol: A lot of wonderful people come together. We have a lot of fun.

Who do you look up to as someone who is leading humanity in the right direction
    right now?
    Carol:
I really like Oprah Winfrey. I think she’s phenomenal. She really tries
to connect with people and tries to help.

What are the big questions that we should be asking ourselves at this time as
    human beings upon the planet?
    Carol:
What did we accomplish today? I think we can look at each day and say,
"What did I accomplish today? What can I accomplish tomorrow?" We can set
goals for ourselves to just become better people, kinder to each other, more conscientious
about what we’re doing and how we’re doing things.
Echo: I would say, "Are we listening to our intuition? Are we listening
to Divine Guidance?" Because if we are, the world’s going to heal. If we’re
not, we’re just continuing to run it from our ego. So, who are we listening to?

What are you currently working on, Echo?
    Echo:
I’m working on a new book. It’s all the really cool spiritual experiences
I’ve had along the way that have gotten me on my spiritual path. I’m call it The
Making of a Spiritual Teacher, but my publisher wants to call it something else.

What are you working on, Carol?
    Carol:
I am working on some new guided meditation CDs and a deck of inspirational
    cards.

Recommend a few things people could do in their everyday lives that would help
    them become whole human beings.
    Carol:
One, meditate – and two, be honest with yourself. What do you really
want? Often people think, "Sure, I’d like that, but so and so really wants me
to do this." You’ve got something good, don’t you? Listen to your intuition.
Echo: It’s always listen to your intuition, because that’s the hardest thing
for us to do, but it’s the best thing for us to do – and the most rewarding.
