This land
is teeming
with students
ubiquitous
in
deed
are those who know not
what they do
demonstrating daily
how their lack
of knowledge
manifests itself
to those who study
them
as they exhibit
war
hatred
dishonesty
greed
disrespect
religiously
bickering
their ignorant
self-righteous ideologies
bequeathing
resentment
and festering anger
amongst their fellow
learners
who are seeking
a way
out of this madness
which somehow
continues to pull us in
to a maelstrom
of withering hope
and fear
reflecting a world
heard screaming
pleading
beseeching
to be taught
a better
way.
