Choosing To Evolve

Isn’t the New Year great? It’s a time of reflection, remembrance and anticipation of what is to come. To some, it may bring about new promises and commitments to oneself. To others, it’s a time of release. A shedding of past thoughts or activities that are not beneficial. Either way – it’s about growth.

Personally, in the coming year, I hope not only to grow, but also to really evolve. I am looking forward to stepping even further out of the box. (For those that know me, you may be a bit scared to hear that!) I’m looking forward to letting go of thought forms that have been a great part of who I am, but don’t seem to have a beneficial impact. I’m going to remember, "Thoughts become things." An idea that has recently re-emerged in the subject matter of The Secret.

I don’t believe that evolving is a slight, easy or quick task. I don’t believe it’s only about changing one thing. I know it’s certainly not a one-step process. This is going to affect my entire be-ing. Evolution isn’t about little adjustments where it’s convenient. It’s about great leaps and strides moving forward. Pretty daunting…. This is going to take homework and commitment, not only to myself in the intellectual, but also the energetic and soulful readjustments.

Personally, I’m committing to breaking personal barriers set, mainly subconsciously, in my business setting. I’m going to try to define myself in a different manner. But I’ll add to what I find already "works." It’s about deepening my character and myself. Further, in my home life, I’m going to work on a path of "non-reaction." Trying to focus my energies on creation and production, not responding and receiving. I’m going to work, in both of my worlds, to further my "Tiff-ism" (as I like to call it). I want to become truer to who I really am in my core. More of me. More of my soul.

For you, if you feel led to evolve as I do, it may be about listening to your intuition and trusting. For others it may be about being kinder to you. Perhaps you need to further dedicate yourself to your Divine gifts. Whatever it may be, do it only for you. Be selfish. Be real. Make it about you. For it’s you and only you that you can change and expand upon.

Now, this is no easy task. To be honest and evolve, we have to take a good hard look at our notions, judgments (about others and most importantly about oneself), programs, etc. Sometimes it’s yucky. Other times it’s painful. But…it’s honest. If nothing else, you can identify what isn’t working and have accountability there. If that’s all you can handle…kudos. That, in and of itself, is tough to do. It’s taken me most of 2006 to come to the point where I can move past that "stuff." Remember, this is a process that can’t and shouldn’t be rushed.

My wish for you is that you take the time to allow yourself to evolve. In this chaotic, rushed and hurried world, it’s a tough task to get perspective on ourselves. Allow yourself to heal and listen to your highest good – scary as that may be! For knowing your inner self is the greatest evolutionary step we could ever take.
