New Connections, New Ways of Being

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." – Carl Gustav Jung

Deep within the core of our being – the being of each one of us simultaneously, as a collective – we are being given the opportunity to be more authentic, more of who we truly are, than we ever thought possible. We have at our disposal new energy and new vision to respond in more intuitive and natural ways as we navigate this reality we call life.

Perhaps, as some of us interpret the change underway, we’re in the midst of a radical transformation of the species. I liken it to a child who suddenly knows that he exists.

We are waking up.

This process of awakening is as easy or as difficult as we make it. Resist it, by choosing to stay asleep or by remaining comfortable in your ways or by not responding to things in your life that are not working. Accept it, by choosing to feel the love of your beating heart or by listening to the sound of the present moment or by wiping the tears that fall on your lover’s cheeks when you’re not looking. It is your choice – and only yours.

Each of us stands at the crossroads. Listen closely. You can feel it. We can all see it clearly throughout our world. Greed is becoming all too obvious. Politicians and corporate executives are finding it impossible to keep their secrets hidden from view. Inaction is becoming just as painful to bear as things done for the wrong reasons. Genocide affects the soul of the world.

And the children, oh the children – who seem to be more awake than any group of young people in our history – must just sit in wonder (and terror), at the opportunities for incredible progress that seem to be wasted as each day passes. Oh yes, they know.

And yet, the possibilities and opportunities continue to be present, because the rising sun each morning signals the birth of a new reality.

And in the end, each of us – and all of us – get a chance at redemption with each passing breath.

These things, and much more, are becoming clear to me. I’m not the same person I was. And I’m no longer standing alone in this stream.

It is time to forsake the hierarchy and interlock arms – in all arenas of life – as we collectively march forward in truth. The joy is in being together, sharing the rewards of the journey as we create new pathways to master our challenges.

Let us smile as we walk on by and no longer choose to follow the path of least resistance, the dead-ends of deception, where we have convinced ourselves too many times in the past that there’s time to change tomorrow.

We cannot afford to live for tomorrow. Now is the only time that truly exists.

Let us celebrate this incredible opportunity to renew our commitment to being
true – to ourselves, to each other, and to life itself. This commitment is no mere
pledge to be a good person, to do good deeds and then kick back and feel good about
how good you are. It may be the most difficult, and most satisfying thing, you have
ever done.

What it amounts to is this: Commit to being human. That means you talk your talk
and walk your walk and be all that you are, with utter transparency, knowing that
the universe is watching over your shoulder. That’s my goal. I invite you to join
me.
