Loyola: Enneagram Salons
Loyola Spirituality Center presents a series of Enneagram Salons for those who have a basic understanding of the Enneagram concept and have determined their "number." The next salon will take place on Wednesday, April 23, and will cost $25. The Enneagram is a tool used by individuals, and by psychologists, spiritual directors and personal coaches who are working with clients seeking emotional health and spiritual enlightenment, says Kay Vander Vort, spiritual director at Loyola Spirituality Center.
Each salon includes discussions around Enneagram themes. The April 23 salon features the Shaughnessy family, who will discuss "Enneagram Types and Relationships" as it relates to interactions among family members. Terry Shaughnessy is the executive director of Loyola, and his wife, Noreen, is an Enneagram educator with an extensive practice in the Enneagram. Benedictine Center: Finding God in Gardening
The Benedictine Center is offering its popular retreat for gardeners and anyone else who loves to make things grow. Called "Spirituality of Gardening," it will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19, and cost $25. Cathy Scherer Stubbs, a master gardener, spiritual director and Benedictine Oblate, will facilitate this session. She believes that working with the earth and planting new life will help you encounter the creative power of God. "Every ordinary act is sacred," she says, "even planting seeds and pulling weeds."
