Rhythm of the Earth: Spring Equinox Ritual & Drum Jam
MINNEAPOLIS – Lake Harriet Spiritual Community will blend its seasonal Earth Ritual with “The Rhythm of Love” Drum Jam led by Gary Chisholm, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at 4401 Upton Ave. S. Honoring the rhythm of Mother Earth, and aligning our being with her cycles, is the deep intent of celebrating the Earth’s holy-days. In this event, Lake Harriet’s ministerial guides will lead the celebration of the new growing season with an empasis on the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. This magical event will feature the dancers of Mischievous Djinn [www.mischievousdjinn.com] the Twin Cities’ premiere belly dance theater ensemble. The dancers will bestow a blessing upon each person who attends. Undercrypt Productions [www.undercrypt.com] will create an ambient grove mixed with live drummers. This soundtrack, as a backdrop to the dancers, brought together in ritual, will create a deeply sacred space to facilitate our spiritual work. For those looking for a full-immersion experience, the drum jam will begin around 9 p.m. and last until midnight. Just as each person on the planet is a unique, vibrational expression of the Spirit That Moves In All Things, and a unique heart beat of the earth, so too does each drummer add a unique beat to the whole. Those in attendance will participate in, and co-create, the collective rhythm of the humanity, and expression of the divine marriage of the vibration of energy and the rhythm of the earth. Suggested donation for the entire event is $10. For more information, call 612.922.4272, or visit www.lakeharrietspiritualcommunity.org.
