For anyone who’s ever wondered about the big questions comes the critically-acclaimed, awarding-winning feature film, The Nature of Existence, asking why do we exist? What is God? What is morality? What is spirituality? What’s the difference between prayer and meditation? And more….
Noted Minnesota native filmmaker, documentarian and producer/director Roger Nygard (Trekkies 1 and 2, Six Days in Roswell) traveled the globe for four years, exploring the world’s philosophies, religions and belief systems. He will be in Minneapolis January 30, for a special event to showcase his film. It will take place from 1-4 p.m. at the Center for Harmonious Living, 12201 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka, MN.
“I made a list of the 85 toughest questions I could think of,” said Nygard, “then I began interrogating the widest cross-section of humanity possible, such as: Indian holy man Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (The Art of Living), 24th generation Chinese Taoist Master Zhang Chengda, Stanford physicist Leonard Susskind (co-discoverer of string theory), and many more.”
An Official Selection at 20 film festivals around the world, The Nature of Existence has won Best Documentary at the 2010 DocuFest Atlanta and at the 2010 Greater Reading Film Festival, and Best Feature at the 2010 Costa Rica Film Festival.
Nygard is also an accomplished director of episodic television. His work includes episodes of such popular shows as “The Office” (NBC), “The Mind of the Married Man” (HBO), “The Bernie Mac Show” (FOX) and” Zeke & Luther” (DisneyXD). He edited the seventh season of the hit HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” for which he was nominated for an Emmy.
