The third annual Twin Cities Kirtan Festival, a celebration of Sanskrit chant music, known as Kirtan, will take place March 10, featuring local chant bands, holistic wellness practitioners and guided meditations.
The event will be from 4-11 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at One Yoga, a nonprofit Yoga studio, at 721 W. 26th St., Minneapolis. Tickets are $20, available in advance online and at the event.
Kirtan is a form of bhakti yoga; the yoga of devotion. The music connects participants with their hearts and spirits, and evokes feelings of bliss. The festival will demonstrate a broad range of what the local Kirtan scene has to offer. Local chant bands have their own unique sound. The event will also feature a holistic wellness area, with practitioners offering their services by donation, as well as guided meditations. Cross the street, for a bite to eat, at Common Roots Cafe or French Meadow Bakery and Café, which both offer organic and gluten-free menus.
The event, which will include door prizes — yoga music, products and more — is produced by Raising the Consciousness [www.raisingtheconsciousness.com]. For questions, please contact [email protected].
