Yoga for You: Warrior One Pose

Ploog-wideWarrior One pose (Virabhadrasana Eka) represents a solid foundation for you to connect with the soul of the Earth. You press your feet into the Earth and feel the Earth’s energy invigorate action into your body. This posture is wonderful to practice when you need a boost of courage to take action. We all have a calling or mission for our lives. Once we are clear on that mission, we must ignite courage to take action to make that mission come alive.

For the past nine months I have been in creation of the original docu-reality television series, Soul Connection Adventure. Each episode I am immersed into a different culture to experience and share their practices of inner peace, celebration and expression of unconditional love. Our mission is to connect people and celebrate humanity to inspire global change for peace and common good through inspirational, educational reality television programming. It has taken the courage that can be ignited by Warrior One pose to move forward through every challenge with faith that our bigger vision and mission for Soul Connection Adventure will prevail.

To ignite courage for your life’s mission, practice Warrior One daily repeating the mantra “I am ready and willing.” Standing in mountain pose, step your right foot 3 feet forward. Your right big toe points straight ahead. Place your left heel down on a 45-degree angle. Bend your right knee over your right ankle. Make sure that you can see your right big toe. Your left leg is straight. Lift up your low belly. Reach your fingers to the sky above you. Take your heart up slightly. Gaze straight ahead or beyond your fingertips over head. Take 10 breaths repeating your mantra. Switch sides. Namasté.
