Toe Reading: Discovering Amazing Stories your Toes hold

shapiro-wideI am a Toe Reader! Yep, you heard me right. A Toe Reader! Reactions come in waves that sound a lot like this: What? Wait! Toe reading? No way! What the heck is that? Oftentimes there is dead silence as people try to process the information. This article is written to create understanding of the process and validity of Toe Reading as a life coaching modality.

Toe Reading is a form of life coaching, more like soul coaching, that focuses on the “holographic recording” of experiences that have taken place in a person’s life up to the present moment: an “emotional printout of everything that has happened to you in your life.”

The concept of toe reading is based on a theory that our bodies create a holographic recording of our life story and imprint it into our energy pattern. Being made of energy, our body records experiences on the cellular level. Our feet take us everywhere and closely connect with the energy of the earth, so think of our stories as becoming grounded through our feet and toes.

Our feet are like “keepers” or “recordings” of our experiences, and when you feel ready to understand and discover more about yourself, a Toe Reading will not tell you your future; however, it might change your thoughts about how you want to move forward in your life journey.

As a Life/Soul Coach I actively listen to my clients, and as a Toe Reader I assist clients in unravelling their story. This is done by looking at my client’s toes and being directed by intuitive guidance to ask questions and use metaphors that can best help clients understand aspects of their life. Our toes are very revealing, and they can tell us a lot about ourselves at physical, mental, emotional or spiritual levels. Toe reading can reveal how a person copes with feelings and inner thoughts, and it can open the conscious and sub-conscious mind to bring changes into a person’s life.

It was during my toe reading training that my own thoughts changed drastically. I was a bit resistant to the process at first, yet, by the end of class I was ready to run with it (pun intended). Encouraged by my instructor to seriously consider adding this to my life coaching modalities, I am glad I followed the guidance. A quote by the late Debbie Ford sums up why I offer toe reading as part of my life coaching business: “When you are humble enough to be used as a messenger and an instrument of the Divine, it is easy to see that your vision chooses you and that you have the choice of whether to honor it.” I chose to honor the vision.

Each foot is special in its own right; the bumps, bruises, calluses and bunions all tell something about your life. The left foot is about how you relate to yourself and your Spirit as you walk upon this earth, and it represents that inner dialogue you have with yourself. The right foot is about how you present, or step out, into the world. It is how others see you, yet you may not see yourself mirrored in the same way. It represents how you relate to the world around you, at work, or in relationships.

I like to impress upon clients that relationships are not just those intimate ones we share with our significant others, but also how we are with friends, family, co-workers, or within organizations. Each toe has a meaning and energetic element associated, as well. There is our Destiny toe and the element of Ether, the Communication toe and the element of Air, the Action toe and the element of Fire, the Relationship toe and the element of Water, and the Trust toe and the element of Earth.

After learning how to do Toe Reading, I have come to honor those bunions, and sometimes those calluses, that my feet hold and ask you to revisit your thoughts, as well. Are you a person of action? Do you feel you shoulder a lot of responsibility? Have you had your heart broken more than once? Do you ever feel like you have a lot to say but feel stifled? Your toes will tell stories you may not realize you still hold onto. What’s waiting to be discovered in your life?

In parting, I often think of how our loving Master, Jesus, washed the feet of His disciples, and I feel so very humbled that I can be of service and impart soul knowledge by reading the toes of my clients.

While in class, we were asked to develop a quote that incorporated our thoughts about toe reading. Without giving it a second thought I typed this: “Toe Talking – Soul (Sole) Walking: Let your toes do the talking! You’ll be amazed at what they have to say!” Whether you believe you are walking your destined path or you are not sure, I challenge you to kick off those socks and shoes — and let’s have a look at those storytelling toes!
