“The Heart of Qi Gong: Connect to the Elements: Earth, Water, Sky,” hosted by the Qi Gong Connection and Five Elements Martial Arts and Healing Center, will be offered to the public on September 23-25 at St. Catherine University, 2004 Randolph Ave., St. Paul. Renowned Qi Gong Grandmaster, Alex Feng, Ph.D., O.M.D., L.Ac., will bring his unique Taoist perspective to facilitate getting in touch with one’s own physical, psychic, and spiritual consciousness to promote self and other-directed healing.
Qi Gong is translated as energy work. An intensely personal practice, Qi Gong has been used as a critical component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and healing for centuries. The practice can be adapted to any level of ability and is noted for its effectiveness in promoting stamina, balance, calming the Monkey Mind, psychological centering, and the immune system. Qi Gong is a standard prescription for cancer patients in China.
From a 2,000-year-old history, these practices are interpreted by Dr. Feng for effective management of one’s energy in this modern world. He brings a blend of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Taoism, and energy work to facilitate individual recognition, transformation and transportation of energy or qi that is considered our life force. Qi Gong is one practice at the heart of Taoism and TCM for attaining increased consciousness and self-awareness.
The weekend includes Taoism Class and Meditation, Psychology of the Five Elements, Internal/External Qi, and Seaweed Qi Gong and Qi Gong Applications for self-healing and healing of others. Interactive, all classes will be practice focused with supporting theory and individual attention.Dr. Feng’s unique I Am A Seaweed Qi Gong focuses on the strength and resiliency of seaweed — firmly rooted but able to flex, bend and flow with the environment — always centered.
Dr. Feng is internationally known for his innovative TCM with leadership in integrative medicine.
