October begins with a New Moon in Libra, which speaks of the beauty way, and not just superficial beauty. The symbol for Libra is a woman holding the scale of fairness, proportion and composition. The Libra motto is “no Justice, no peace: know justice — know peace.” It honors the light within all, and seeks equality and balance in our loving relationships and our community, an important conversation as we head into national elections.
Mercury enters Libra on October 7, conjunct Jupiter October 11 and furthers this conversation. Feisty Mars squares Jupiter on October 5 and sharpens our tempers and competitive nature. Venus begins the month in broody Scorpio then enter Sagittarius on October 18 and opens our hearts. Mars conjuncts Pluto on October 19, which adds a volatility that can either explode, or propel us forward. From October 24-27, the Sun and Mercury enter Scorpio and bring a new seriousness, focus, and introspection, and prepare us for the depth and creativity of Halloween.

Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)...You may notice a stiff learning curve this month, so make it productive. Emotional situations can become convoluted with Venus in Scorpio, opposed your Sun; it pays to keep interactions simple and warmhearted. Opportunities open up after October 20. Your work can gear up, and tensions can actually stimulate opportunities.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)...October 1-8 you can feel nervy, spread thin, but communication begins to flow October 7 -October 11. Negotiate around an argument mid-October as Mercury squares Mars, but don’t do other people’s work for them. Do use your fascinating ability to ask the right questions to promote open honesty all around.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)…Invite people to your house this month; always a sanctuary, your house and office can be a warm receptive place for people to gather with open hearts. That may be in contrast to your work situation, where relationships need finesse to negotiate potentially spiny differences, but produce potentially productive transformations.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…Your generous heart and social skills can ease community tension.
