Let’s clean our flowerbeds and rake the yard, rake our emotional issues and political secrets out of the corners and compost them. With Mercury (April 9-May 3) and Venus (March 4-April 15) retrograde, our feelings may be as tender as new crocus as we see the results of the past and remember what seeds we planted, for better or worse. We may find ourselves back at the crossroads of personal and political problems we thought we’d solved. Like a spiral, we’re a little farther along, but back at a familiar place on the circle.
If we’re dealing with memories, people and problems from the past, let’s not get overwhelmed. Instead, do the work at a deeper level, more effectively, and hopefully, more permanently. A tender crocus is strong enough to return year after year, no matter how tough the winter. Our tenderness may be tested as Venus squares Saturn April 8, but we get a chance to resolve the issues around April 21.
Aries (Mar. 21-Apr. 19)…Exert leadership rather than rebellion; define your own paradigm. Strong emotions may buffet your psyche but no one notices; ask for help when you need it. Confidence and action further around April 5 as Mars trines Pluto. Open up new lines of communication after April 21 when Mars enters Gemini.
Taurus (Apr. 20-May 20)…This can be a soul-deep month, though it may be practically frustrating. Get to unfinished business and clear up some karmic tangles April 8 and 21. Notice any fear around your future, hold it gently, but question that story. The world may feel more comfortable after April 20 when the Sun enters Taurus.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)…What is truth? Your fast-paced mind can spin in circles and it’s truly important for you to want to understand the truth, rather than prove your point. After April 9, wander around, deepen your understanding of the community around you, and lay good foundations for more cooperation.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)…You may feel like curling up in your own home, but if you can stay engaged, April brings opportunities hidden in temporary difficulties. Step forward and fill vacancies created by other people’s mistakes or distraction. Check in with connections from the past, see how you can be helpful in their present stress, and they will love you for it.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)…Even though your surroundings may be tumultuous and your heart tender, you can grow by leaps and bounds. Enjoy opportunities to learn and expand your horizons. At work, help communication moves smoothly, thoughtfully and without drama. It’s unusual for you to be the one with common sense, so shine.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)…Notice tension around shared resources, loans, property and look to the past for answers. Don’t get discouraged; unknot one problem at a time and grow a deeper sense of your own resilience. Feel your enthusiasm return as Mercury enters Aries, trines Saturn April 24, and conjuncts Uranus April 28.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)…Pay attention to legal and romantic matters. Emotional baggage from the past can complicate things. Do not resist or resent, just get on with the work and create space for future growth. Be responsible, but not touchy around April 8 and 21; enjoy a whiff of Spring fever April 16.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)…As the month begins, allergies, tempers, and muscles can inflame. Stay cool, notice how small trials may build your sense of compassion. If irritated by work delays or inconsistent people April 9-15, breathe deeply and know it’s temporary. Build a better system or habit of communication to improve the problem the last week of April.
