Let’s face it. There are times we all need a little, or a lot, of healing. There are occasions where we don’t have the time, funds or desire to seek help from professional gifted healers, and that’s okay. Although nothing can beat that amazing feeling after an intense energy healing session, there are plenty of things we can do for ourselves to maintain us — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually — and help mend what, at times, feels downright broken.
One of the most important things is to practice self-maintenance and have a simple daily ritual in place. I try to start my mornings with mantras and affirmations as soon as I am awake enough to do so, even before I open my eyes. Then it’s on to smudging and meditation, along with crafting my favorite brew of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), local raw honey, and a couple other ingredients I always have on hand. Self-maintenance and nurturing are essential for our well-being, so just taking 15 minutes of your morning to do this can make a huge difference. A gratitude journal can be of great value in starting your day, as well.
Oils, stones and herbs can play a tremendous role in self-healing. It is amazingly easy to come by high quality items to use in healing, and there is a plethora of information on how to use them. They are versatile, time tested and effective. It can be deeply restorative to soak in the tub before bed in some pink Himalayan sea salt, essential oils and a couple crystals that correspond to your ailment. This is great for the mind, body and soul!
Your body is not separate from nature: in fact, it is part of it. Spending time outdoors can be enjoyable, therapeutic and transformational. More times than not we have to take time out to get back to where we belong, to Mother Earth. What we eat is a vital contribution to the maintenance of our health and an aid in healing ourselves, and our food should come from the natural world. In a society where a high percentage of what is sold in the grocery store is not natural and has little to no nutritional value, changing what you consume can literally save your life. The best I ever felt was on the raw-vegan diet. It is my goal to get back to that. The more natural we live our lives, the more we thrive.
I am a huge advocate for meditations and visualization for healing. Guided meditations on YouTube are free and numerous. If you have an issue, there is most likely a guided meditation for it, or 20 of them. By relaxing our minds and bodies while connecting to our higher self, we are capable of amazing things. Miraculous things.
One way to get the most from your meditation is through yoga. I can’t tell you how many times a client’s spirit guide will deliver the message that they need yoga! Yoga is the practice of merging your mind, body and soul into balance and harmony. When that is accomplished, we have tremendous power available to us. The studies on the physical healing properties of yoga are overwhelming and the holistic healing evidence is multiplying rapidly, as well.
Our bodies are designed to support and heal. Don’t underestimate your own ability to overcome. What you believe becomes your reality, and when you are in the driver’s seat of your own galaxy, you are an amazing creative force.
Your body’s ability to heal itself is its birthright. Not all healing is eliminating an illness or condition. Sometimes, it is our perspective that needs healing so we can overcome by learning the lesson behind the pain and see the treasure in the darkness. Sometimes, healing is to overcome our adversity, live a life beyond our perceived limitations, and rise to inspire others.
