Nelson to lead Guided Nature Hike

711

EarthMentor David Nelson will lead a one-of-a-kind nature experience from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 at one of his favorite nature centers in the Twin Cities — Tamarack in White Bear Township — during his only hike of this fall.

Fall colors should be peaking, and participants will see the green needles of the Tamarack tree turn gold.

Nelson encourages you to consider trying this three-mile, grass-and-sand path barefoot (and bring sandals or slips-ons as back up if you wish). He will explain the healing energies of the Earth and the methods he has developed to create a grounded, centered experience, which is crucial for mental, emotional and physical health. Those who attend will learn healing techniques to use at home.

Part of the walk will be silent and Nelson will guide you in various forms of walking meditation from his Buddhist training. At other times, he will point out what most people fail to see and appreciate in nature, and help awaken your true nature.

A $20 donation is requested to support his work. Group discounts are available so bring a carload. Meet in the parking lot promptly at 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.earthmentor-davidnelson.com.
