Renewable Energies & the Renewing of Mind

About two and half years ago, I was introduced to the subjects of renewable and nuclear energy resources. At the time I was working on a project that involved teenagers and environmental solutions. Through my research I frequently came across such terms as cold fusion, low energy nuclear reaction, green energy, clean energy and zero point energy. I also came across different forms of renewable energies that were already being used, such as solar, wind power, hydroelectric power, biomass and geothermal power.

Now, it is not lost on me that two months before I started working on this environmental project I was introduced to Christian Science. I attended a group meeting at the Reading Room in Albuquerque and was gifted the book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. According to the Christian Science website, Mary Baker Eddy discovered and founded Christian Science, defining it as “the law of God, the law of Good” (Rudimental Divine Science, p.1). In Christian Science, God is understood to be infinite love, so invariably good that a clear glimpse of this prayer has power to heal, redeem and restore anyone.

In doing my research, I read article after article on all of these different energy resources. I watched Youtube videos and interviewed nuclear physicists and scientists. I visited several independent laboratories. At the exact same time, I was reading several books on Mary Baker Eddy, as well as listening to Christian Science CDs, attending lectures and meetings on the Bible and studying the book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. I immersed myself in both of these studies.

What was very interesting to me were the words I kept coming across in regards to the descriptions of renewable energies and other energy resources: inexhaustible, abundant, plentiful, practical, safe, clean, infinite, natural and good. Where did I hear those words before? The same descriptions were used in Christian Science to describe Almighty God, the one who governs all.

Several renewable energies come directly from the sun. It is their source. If we go to the glossary in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the definition for sun is the symbol of soul governing man, of truth, life and love.

Are renewable energies the external picture of the internal renewing of one’s Self? In Romans 12:2 from the St. James Bible, Paul says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Renewable and other energy resources have come now to awaken us, because we can no longer benefit from fossil fuels as we have in the past. I found this definition on the Internet for the word “fossil”: the remains or impression of a prehistoric organism preserved in petrified form or as a mold or cast in rock. From a material point of view, the words prehistoric, form, mold and rock mean old theology. Furthermore, fossil fuels are nonrenewable, meaning they are finite.

Mrs. Eddy stated, “Infinite mind cannot be limited to a finite form, or mind would lose its infinite character as inexhaustible love, eternal life, omnipotent truth.”

Renewable energies and mind (spirit) are the same, because there is only One Mind, One Almighty God, One Divine Principle. Be quiet, be still for we are actually watching all unfold beautifully. Thank the love of Almighty God for all the goodness in this beautiful realm of thought. Good is the Law of God. Law is Science.
