The Present Moments of Nature

1810

Nature is my favorite place to go to spend time in the present moment. It is a place without judgment, worries or demands of life. Every step I take leads me to connect in the now, deeper with my inner self, and let go to relax into the gentle, living world.

The songbirds sweetly sing, flitting from tree to tree, as the squirrels come to greet me. I walk through the marram grasses as the sand underfoot reminds me life is ever changing. I am in awe of the stillness of the lake as the dawn awakens my spirit. I am present in body and mind, experiencing every sense within me — dare I blunder and miss any moment of the glory before me. I am humbled by the multitude of life that exists as I look beyond the obvious to see the miracles of nature. I am blessed. I am thankful. I am present. Thank you, Lord. Lead me and I will follow.

As I look across the water, I see His reflection in every ripple that shimmers with the morning light. I am balanced as the sun endearingly invites me to enjoy more. I hear the roar of the ocean waves crashing upon the other side of the peninsula I so fondly find my way to each week. It calls me back for more soul cleansing and clearing. I need only come and meditate in the state of being as He restores my mind, body and soul.

It is here in nature I can best be myself while I relax into the present moment, no worries about tomorrow, no stress about the past. I experience every moment as my mind expands as the living world wraps me with its love. I am uplifted beyond measure. Time seemingly stands still as He teaches me the importance of spending time delighting in His garden.

I am here, I am me, I am safe in His world at this moment that passes into the next and I, with it, restored and ready to carry on His wishes.
