Tarot from Conscience (or the Traveling Moth)

A space for tarot reflection for the day, week, or moment it comes across your screen. Each of these is reworked intentionally for The Edge, from the egregore of GroupTarot’s Card of the Week, to center education, diversity, and intuition.

Hello really and truly from Conscience or the Traveling Moth! I am currently parked behind the historic Klondike Hotel in St. Helens OR, where I will be reading later on this afternoon.

Thank you to the friends who came out yesterday! It’s always lovely to see your faces IRL.

Conscience is shaping up into a marvelously comfortable rejuvenating sanctuary. I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!! (that type of caps usage only came into my life after working in Claire Willett plays, her intentional use soooo pegs her as a playwright and really conveys my effervescent excitement!)

If you’re new here and are like, what’s Conscience??? Besides that voice in my head telling me not to do stuff, follow @ConscienceortheTravelingMoth on Instagram or support my work directly by becoming a Patron, Conscience or the Traveling Moth on patreon.com

Today we’re using my newest deck – and the one with me at the Klondike – Lua Tarot created by Maree Bento.

I am very curious to see whether The Lovers comes up again. For those of you on my mailing list, you know our CotW has been The Lovers two weeks in a row! While CotW for The Edge Community has been Preconditions from The Mahābhārata Oracle – which also had a tie in to The Lovers, as it was a lover who did not keep his agreement to Ganga – and two bridges from The Portland Tarot.

Today your streams converge and all are given,

The King of Wands

Stand tall in your fire! Your power, your drive, your worth, your sexiness.

Your value is high and you have worked hard to get where you’re at. You know how to tend and keep balance – fire needs air and earth to sustain itself. Too much of either and the fire dies, then needs to be brought back to life from the embers remaining.

Be positive, confident, radiant.

Also, see all of these qualities in other people. It’s rough out there for a lot of folx. Delta is still spreading, people are figuring out their new normal. Many realized during the pandemic their work was not actually sustaining nor healthy for them and are making changes. They having ripple effects everywhere, everything going on between IATSE and AMPTP is a great large scale example, and similar negotiations are happening a lot. Maybe you’re going through some yourself.

Consequently, how potent might it be to see the regalness, power, and alignment in everyone.

To know that they’ve worked to get where they are.
To see their unique spark of divinity.

I am reminded of a story Starhawk shared in one of her books. I don’t remember which one. She was going to an event and it’d been rough in her life. She was in a Ten of Wands, Ten of Swords place and someone looked at her – meaning to be empathetic and understanding – and said something along the lines of, you look like shit. To which Starhawk replied, don’t tell me that! Even though it’s true, tell me I look wonderful! That’s what I need to hear! Later on in the day, she did feel better.

The words we use with ourselves and others matter.

How we see and feel those around us – whether we see the unhoused as full of value and potential – has unknown ripple effects, like the Two of Wands.

Remembering the two and the ten are both a part of our experiences, and this week, We are the King.
