Starcodes for the week of February 18 – 24, 2022

The Sun now enters Pisces for this last month of winter. The weather becomes changeable, mutable, like the energy of Pisces; one minute it’s spring, next one still wintery cold. People’s moods can shift like that weather and become mobile, sensitive, reactive. Pisces calls us to stay warm and dream of better weather and future possibilities, read seed catalogs and plan for an active spring ahead.

Under the Aquarius Sun we philosophized, now we dream new possibilities into being. When spring arrives and the Sun enters Aries we initiate change, revolution, evolution and rebirth. The Sun heads next into Taurus when we plant our gardens and add determination to our changes. This yearly cycle calls us to dream deep now, catch up with our feelings and our spiritual healing, and let our imagination play. But let’s choose carefully what we vote for with our imagination.

Even though Pisces asks us to slow down, dream and plan, we still might chafe at the bit to push forward. Venus and Mars form a motivating engine as they run conjunct- first in Capricorn, then Aquarius- for an unusually long period of time this spring. Mars encourages us to act on anything Venus cares about. Which is wonderful when we want to paint, work, or love but can be surprisingly tricky if we want to invade another country.

The politics of the moment hang in a delicate balance. There’s an astrological study which points out that you can tell where in the world a country will have problems by the Astro-cartography of the chart of its current leader. Pres. Joe Biden’s Mars on the descendent (where to go to find difficult people or find a fight) runs through Moscow. Uranus squares (challenges and energize) that Mars through the spring, which points to the volatility of this relationship. The unexpected could happen at any moment. Now that unexpected can go in any direction- so let’s see if we can lean in through action and prayer to push that scenario towards a positive outcome.

Venus and Mars conjunction can bring in new relationships and encourage us to manifest our dreams and get earthy with them. With Venus and Mars in Capricorn we can feel loved if our work or efforts feel supported. We just have to watch that Capricorn willfulness or we can start manipulating or organizing our beloveds, pushing them around, as that breeds trouble even if we think we are doing it for their own good. Let’s use this Pisces energy to be sensitive in our relationships and explore consequences before we roll into action.

Mental Mercury now in expansive Aquarius helps us see the bigger picture and communicate more comfortably with one another, yet because it semi-squares intuitive but confusing Neptune as the weekend begins it can leave us a bit disjointed with our minds wandering in ten directions

A busy Virgo Moon on Friday helps us tie up the week’s loose ends. The Moon then enters Libra Friday evening for the weekend and brings a more soft-spoken, creative dreaminess. A Scorpio Moon on Monday brings our focus back but adds an edge.  Midweek brings the first hint of spring fever, a desire to travel, break our routine, or change directions under a peripatetic Sagittarius Moon and as Mercury squares Uranus.

Starcodes week of February 18 through 24

Friday, February 18: Momentum pauses as the Sun enters Pisces and the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune, but we can still use the day to finish up loose ends even if we can’t quite see where we’re going next. Our nervous systems can wind up, but let’s not take any generalized anxiety out on each other. Instead, put that nervy energy to good use and deal with details. The mood relaxes and warms up as the Moon enters friendly Libra about 8:50 PM MST.

Moon opposed Neptune 6:21 AM, Sun enters Pisces 9:42 AM, Moon trine Pluto 4:19 PM, Moon enters Libra 8:50 PM.

Saturday, February 19:  For most of the day the Moon makes no major aspects and this can make it hard to build momentum in any one direction. Wander and contemplate relationships and social justice as the Libra Moon opposes Chiron. Don’t feel guilty for not getting busy, Venus and Mars in Capricorn may push at us to do things, but we need to aim that engine with subtlety. Focus on a life in balance.

Moon trine Mercury 5:17 AM.

Sunday, February 20:  Our needs and feelings can be at odds as the peaceful relationship-oriented Moon in Libra squares Venus, Mars, and Pluto. Take it easy, be honest about personal discontent rather than take it out on one another. Avoid passive aggression and take responsibility for personal needs.  Consider a creative project that takes effort and engineering skills.

Moon trine Saturn 4:45 AM, Moon square Venus 7:33 AM, Moon square Mars 8:24 AM, Moon square Pluto 10:01 PM.

Monday, February 21: Early this morning get organized and form specific goals which can be achieve independently; accomplish those while the coffee kicks in and cheers up cranky people under a focused Scorpio Moon and as Mercury semi-squares Neptune. By midday we can see the bigger picture, but the real problems may be closer to home; let’s watch where we’re going.

Moon enters Scorpio 2:18 AM, Moon trine the sun 7:27 AM, Mercury 70 square Neptune 8:13 AM, Moon square Mercury 3:27 PM, Moon opposed Uranus 10:10 PM, Moon trine Jupiter 11:45 PM.

Tuesday, February 22: On this cranky but pragmatic morning it helps to take inventory of our situation and avoid people while the Moon squares Saturn.  The day smooths out and we can get into our groove as the focused Scorpio Moon forms lovely sextiles to Venus and Mars. People may still not be too chatty but may feel more open and are more likely to offer mutual support.

Moon square Saturn 9:53 AM, the Moon sextile Venus 2:54 PM, Moon sextile Mars 3:58 PM, Moon trine Neptune 5 PM.

Wednesday, February 23: Move. Move the body, travel, drive a car, or dance in the streets under a mobile Sagittarius Moon and as Mars sextiles Neptune. We want to feel less trapped, secure but ready to roll physically, emotionally, or financially. Contemplate questions about true freedom and what is a practical step in that direction as Jupiter semi-squares Pluto and Mercury sextiles Chiron. But check your audience before you take their time discussing your conclusions. This could be a point of real contention, and patience runs thin quickly.

Moon sextile Pluto 2:23 AM, Moon enters Sagittarius 6:28 AM, Mars sextile Neptune 12:11 PM, Jupiter semi- square Pluto 3:16 PM, Moon square the Sun 3:32 PM, Mercury sextile Chiron 10:06 PM.

Thursday, February 24: People change their minds, possibly in the middle of the intersection, so watch traffic as Mercury squares Uranus. We can get anxious if we feel we have to make a decision, so engage guilt-free dithering. This is not time to decide, instead it is time to experiment and consider all possibilities and perspectives. Be willing to open the mind and walk in another’s shoes, and so gain a better perspective.

Moon sextile Mercury 10:17 AM, Moon square Jupiter 4:18 AM, Venus sextile Neptune 9:03 AM, Moon sextile Saturn 1:44 PM, Mercury square Uranus 7:21 PM, Moon square Neptune 10:24 PM

Astrology does not define the future, it describes a pulse, a pattern – you choose how you respond. Let me know what you need, I can do an in-depth reading or work on a specific question. Readings start with a deep look at your natal chart, transits and progressions; who you are, your strengths, weaknesses, and your soul’s priorities, what’s being triggered in your chart now, and how best to work with those energies. I work via Zoom and phone. I am a practical, intuitive, choice-oriented astrologer, ordained interfaith minister, OBOD member, and Hay House author.
