Tarot from Conscience (or the Traveling Moth)
A space for tarot reflection for the day, week, or moment it comes across your screen. Each of these is reworked intentionally for The Edge, from the egregore of GroupTarot’s Card of the Week, to center education, diversity, and intuition.

Happy Friday the 13th! And almost Full Moon!
Sorry for being late this week! As those of you who are on Group Tarot’s mailing list, or follow Conscience (or the Traveling Moth) on Instagram know, I’ve just started my northward drive to Beltaine in the Grove. Last I heard, there were only 24 tickets left, so if the Columbia Gorge/Pacific NW is on your bucket list, come on out! I’ve teamed up with Tarot by Arwen and have over 100 tarot decks to sell – new, used, rare, out of print, mass produced, indie, tarot, wisdom, angel, oracle – as well as offering individual and group readings, AND will be facilitating a workshop based on my upcoming class series starting May 31 Moving Through the Majors. Want deeper knowledge of the Major Arcana? Love moving your body in surprising ways? Hate moving your body in surprising way but want to change that? Then this series is for you! All sessions are recorded, so no need to be at every class if your schedule isn’t free 1-2pm Pacific T/Th/Sat May 31 – June 25.
There’s so much!
Consequently, I hope you understand why I was not able to get this in to y’all Tuesday. I was packing my bus!
She’s so much fuller now with road snacks and two tubs of decks.
And adventuring!
But y’all have waited long enough for Card of the Week!
This one comes from a delightful little keychain mermaid oracle by Sue Lion. I’m so grateful she (I presume) has her name on the back of each card.
Play.
Make the sandcastle even though you know eventually the sea, or wind, or a person who really wants to play with some Tower energy, will knock it down.
Find the fun and the joy, the spontaneity. So often we get stuck in routines or expectations. How can you have fun anyway? There’s a game some musical theatre companies – and sometimes non-musical theatre – play.
Ball change Sunday.
Why Sunday? Because for Equity theatres that’s the end of an eight show week and everyone is tired and ready for their Monday off.
But there’s still a paying audience seeing it for the first time – even if it’s your 100th, or 39th, or 12th – time performing it.
So, ball change Sunday is where everyone in the cast finds a way to do a ball change that is not part of the normal choreography and that does not distract from the story being told.
What is a ball change? It is a three step, where you take a step, place the ball of your opposite foot down briefly, to then shift your weight back to the first foot.
I remember when the cast of A Rose Tattoo did this at The Goodman Theatre. When we were not onstage or doing cues, we were watching the TV in the green room INTENTLY to see who was going to do a ball change and where!
This seemingly silly game had everyone rapt. Even though we were easily 4 weeks into our run. Onstage and off.
It was soooo much fun!
So energizing!
For the first time in weeks, we didn’t know what was going to happen next even though we kinda did.
So, if you’re feeling stuck in routine, how can you add your equivalent of a ball change Sunday into the mix?

Purchase this deck – https://suelion.com/product/mermaid-moons-mini-deck It’s currently out of stock. Sue lost everything in a December fire. It’s long work to rebuild.
