Starcodes: July 29 – August 4

Starcodes for the week of July 29 – August 4, 2022

Two interlacing astrological strands weave through this week- one streak of leonine summer indulgence calls us to the rodeo or farmer’s market, encourages us to enjoy lemonade and a peach on the porch. Putter in the garden, socialize, and renew. We need to do all these things for balance.

Another streak brings great urgency and the potential for change, particularly positive change, as active Mars conjuncts both change-inducing Uranus and the North node in earthy Taurus. The North node is a fortunate point which calls us towards our future. The Mars-Uranus conjunction electrifies us in a deep earthy way and can literally shift the ground underneath us. Keep an eye in the news for earth tremors or landslides as the earth shifts and moves to make itself more comfortable. Look for metaphorical tremors in the solid foundations of our life, may they shift in a good direction.

Now Mars conjunct Uranus can spark feistiness, induce an accident-prone quality, particularly if we are in a mood or in a hurry and not focusing on what we’re doing, so let’s pay attention to the moment. At its best this spark encourages positive changes wherever we need it most.

But this three-way conjunction can also lower impulse control and start a fire, whether of literal fire, political or interpersonal fire. It can stoke motivational fires. There are now fires burning around the world clambering for radical change- the trees are begging us to act. This positive aspect combines with the potential for loss as Mercury quincunx Pluto midweek. If we hear the call for global change, let’s see what we can do to participate.

Through this week we may just feel the need for a change of scene and take a side trip. But to use this aspect well let’s take some time this weekend and think about what positive changes we really need and engage in a self-responsible way. Let’s look at the habits that we may need to change in a relationship and give it a chance to grow before we toss it out. What changes do we need to make for our health or to give ourselves a new creative goal. We can participate with local politicians that would like to steer our boat in a good direction. Get those changes rolling.

The weekend begins under a sociable and eventful Leo New Moon. Our critique sharpens over the weekend as the Moon enters organizational Virgo while mental Mercury opposes responsible and diligent Saturn. This helps us work on our craft, improve our situation, and plan ahead, though it might induce crankiness. Sunday through early next week our sense of possibilities expand as the Sun trines positive Jupiter while that three-way conjunction peaks.

The Moon enters collaborative Libra as Venus sextile Uranus and Mars through midweek which can help us work together on those new changes. These sextiles also brings a flirtatious and friendly spark, so keep an eye open for new connections.

On Thursday the mood shifts and bring the first hints of autumn. Mercury enters intelligent Virgo as the Moon enters serious Scorpio on Thursday- and suddenly we might crave school supplies or need to sketch in future plans.

Friday, July 29: Celebrate or laze about; self-indulgence renews on the small scale but becomes problematic if we step on others’ toes in the process. Let’s take this moment after yesterday’s New Leo Moon to assess what we need, want, what makes us happy, what needs to change as the Moon squares Mars and Uranus. It’s a good day to pitch a proposal, because we feel like showing our best self, but not everyone is in a position to receive that bounty. We also need to be an appreciative audience and give others room to shine

Saturday, July 30: Let life move like a lazy river this morning, let everything move at its own rate. The afternoon brings a more corrective attitude, we notice what work needs to be done, what needs to be fixed, repaired and may have the energy to do so. Don’t get grim, just get on with it; celebrate rather than correct one another in the process as the Moon enters Virgo midday. A relatively subdued Saturday night can bring thoughtful healing conversations as Mercury opposes Saturn just after midnight.

Moon enters Virgo 12:10 PM.

Sunday, July 31: Investigate how to step out of a smaller box and see the bigger picture. This morning brings a burst of industry which can make us cranky as Mercury opposes Saturn. The mood softens with generosity as the Sun trines Jupiter midday. Take an opportunity to open the mind and think on a bigger scale, connect to the wide world and understand the global influences. Tonight we can feel camaraderie as we have an adventure or work well together as the Virgo Moon sextile Venus and trine Mars.

Monday, August 1: Keep worries in proportion this morning as the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune, Mercury quincunx Neptune and stimulate confusing concerns. Use any ambient discomfort to really assess the changes that need to be made in daily life, nutrition, politics relationship and work patterns–and step forward. Tonight, Mars conjuncts Uranus and lights a spark, but what sort of spark and where they land- is up to us. Initiate good changes.

Tuesday, August 2: Notice a restless, exploratory, concerned, artistic, creative and curious vibe as lovely Venus sextiles Uranus under a friendly Libra Moon, though we’re still aware of long-term concerns as Mercury quincunx Pluto. Find balance, don’t overdo it. Assess the situation and adjust. Venus sextiles Mars late in the day, brings camaraderie and friendliness and can spark a romance. Kind words will do wonders. See each other.

Wednesday, August 3: Our insecurities could seep in as irritability as the Moon squares Venus and Pluto while trine Saturn, but we can get through them by taking care of other people’s insecurities-honoring them and giving them support. We gain more by helping others than we do with any kind of self-conscious introversion. Our heartfelt generosity in this Leo time helps us fill the gaps. Take action for good causes and good people and feel renewed.

Moon square Venus 11:54 AM, Moon trine Saturn 4:28 PM.

Thursday, August 4: The internal weathers bring a hint of autumn. Notice a hint of melancholia or cynicism along with the sight of a first yellow leaf and fresh back-to-school supplies as Mercury enters task-oriented Virgo and the Moon enters serious Scorpio. This shifts once we engage productive action. Soften around any rising anxieties; look ahead, look within, but stay in the summer’s moment.
