Card of the Week – October 25, 2022

Tarot from Conscience (or the Traveling Moth)

A space for tarot reflection for the day, week, or moment it comes across your screen. Each of these is reworked intentionally for The Edge, from the egregore of GroupTarot’s Card of the Week, to center education, diversity, and intuition.

Thank you to everyone who woke up super early to participate in the penultimate New Moon Group Tarot reading. The early morning/late night ones are the hardest for me to motivate for, and always end up being so nourishing.

If you have yet to join, Nov. 23 – two days after my birthday! – is your last chance. After over two years, 5 continents, and over $2,000.00 donated to b.e.s.t. organizations, it’s time to take a pause.

Register here to see how group and individual paths align in the final New Moon Group Tarot.

Halloween is almost upon us, and consequently, Trick or Treat Tarot by Barbara Moore and Jonathan Hunt is calling again.

Tis the season for tricks and costumes, candy, ofrendas, thin veils, and ancestors, fiery maple leaves, stepping on acorns, and crocheting scarves.

At least in my part of the Northern Hemisphere.

To think about this week, we are given,
Knight of Swords

Even though it might take some restraint that you may not want to engage, look before you leap, lest you set yourself or the house on fire.

You’re ready to spring into action!

Great!

But, is it the right time/place/situation? Or are you entering someone else’s domicile with noble intentions but uninvited?

This Knight is smart, keen, determined, and agile.

You’re able to adapt to situations, defend your values and ideas.

Just be careful that you continue growing, learning, and taking in new information – then allowing the new information to affect your current notions.

It’s hard to convince someone of a different truth or experience, when they’ve made their mind up.

Sometimes some reverse psychology may be helpful, or a damsel in distress ploy.

Other times you just may want to shake the knight in shining armor syndrome out of a person – or yourself! I definitely have to check my white knight/savior tendencies! I’m not alone.

Regardless, thank you for speaking up, defending what you believe in, and being willing to act even when it means jumping into slightly precarious situations.

Recommended reading – One of my favorite authors and fellow Reclaiming Witch, T. Thorn Coyle has a fantastic ghost series up. Hop over to their site for a read! The leather daddy is a bit more Knight of Wands than Swords, but it’s a great short story, and I love lifting up other queer witches, especially writers centering queer characters.

All the b.e.s.t,
