Tarot from Conscience (or the Traveling Moth)

A space for tarot reflection for the day, week, or moment it comes across your screen. Each of these is reworked intentionally for The Edge, from the egregore of GroupTarot’s Card of the Week, to center education, diversity, and intuition.

We are less than a week away from my birthday! When next I write you all, I’ll be a year older.

Which is kinda funny when you think about it.

It’s not like, in this dimension, a year passes in the moment between 11:59pm and midnight. It’s a cumulative effect that started the year before, and the year before that… as we continue to take each day moment by moment, second by second, while recognizing the desire to mark time.

There is something magickal in those final seconds, that threshold where we can say – I’m a year older. The world is a year older. My community is a year older. We’ve survived. Hopefully, we’ve thrived. Maybe it’s our permission to wipe the slate clean and start anew.

Today, we return to Theresa Pridemore’s Sovereign Oracle deck for Card of the Week. It both called out and is the deck I use throughout my day for personal touch-ins, and to help me open into my client readings. Have you booked yours? Schedule here

We are given:

Consistency

  • Hold space for a sustainable vision. Find supportive rituals.
  • Attract co-creators through the power and devotion of your enduring action.
  • Persistence is required.

Well that ties right in with last week’s reminder of cultivating regular practice, regular sleep, regular meals, regular time in nature, bringing the magick into the mundane worlds; as well as this morning’s rumination on time! Not to mention my weekly repetition here with The Edge.

One of my teachers, Daniel Stein, used to talk about putting carrots on the scale as a metaphor for having artistic breakthroughs. One just has to keep up the repetition, the practice, and trust that they’re adding carrots to the scale, getting better every day even when it feels like a slip backwards, or plateau.

Eventually, the scales will flip.

Eventually, 11:59 turns to midnight.

So, if this is an affirmation for you, congratulations! Keep up the good work! Even if no one else notices, the cards and I do, and celebrate you!

If this card is a reminder that the work and change doesn’t happen by itself, it needs your consistent attention to whatever degree is sustainable for you right now, good! What’s one small thing you can do towards your goal? One small thing to bring your vision into the physical realm?

Let me know! I’d love to hear them in the comments.
