Tarot from Conscience (or the Traveling Moth)
A space for tarot reflection for the day, week, or moment it comes across your screen. Each of these is reworked intentionally for The Edge, from the egregore of GroupTarot’s Card of the Week, to center education, diversity, and intuition.

I am coming down off of quite the Samhain/Full Moon/Eclipse energy, along with multiple Group Tarot readings these days.
Friends and I journeyed to enjoy the final full lunar eclipse in the US for a few years.
It was cold, foggy, misty, but we found cloud breaks at perfect times.
We saw totality just before 3am our time.
We marveled at the deep reds and were warmed by companionship and some silly dances.
This past Sunday, I did a YouTube live with deck creator Benebell Wen. If you have yet to do so, hop over, enjoy and subscribe. Her stunningly layered Spirit Keepers Tarot gives us Card of the Week:
4 of Chalices
The Hollow Void.
What are we fixating on when the Universe is trying to give us a gift?
Are you putting your time and attention into emotions, situations, relationships, that are actually nourishing? Or are you focusing on what’s out of reach or missing?
Here, Benebell depicts a meditating monk, in signature robes of Korean Buddhism, with hand mudras: one for connecting inward to cultivate inner alchemy, the other to connect outwards and cultivate outer alchemy.
I love her choice of the word “cultivate” as it implies constant, regular work. Regular meditation, regular reflection, regular nourishment, regular sitting under a tree, regular sleep, regular meals. The mundane is magickal.
Although you may or may not have a scorpion guard while you meditate and journey to the inner realms.
I just learned scorpions are a symbol of the Neolithic Egyptian Mother Goddess Serket. In this card, the scorpion in the tree is a protector, sent by Serket, to keep watch while the monk journeys inward.
Makes me think I need to apologize to Serket as well, for killing one of her sentinels earlier this year…
The tree our monk is meditating in front of is not alive. My initial sense was winter – especially as our wheel in the Northern Hemisphere has just turned into the darkest parts of the dark half of the year.
This time of reflection is amplified by Benebell’s illustration of a snag, a dying tree still standing.
Maybe this path or relationship is coming to an end, and it’s time to repurpose what you’ve learned into what comes next. Dead trees continue to give life to a myriad of bugs and insects, animals finding empty hollows, firewood to warm our human hearths, mulch to nourish the soil.
Maybe,
This is a point in your life path where you’re thinking beyond your basic needs, or even community, social, or emotional needs. At this point in your life, you’re seeking to manifest your full personal potential… focus inward on your personal spirituality. Explore the sacred dimension of life.

Remember to open your awareness 360 degrees, deep within, vast about, to receive and drink deeply from the gift the Universe wants to give you, whether they come from something else dying, or not.
Then keep on doing the work, your generative, intuitive work.
Let the leaves fall that are no longer needed.
Let them lie to feed the soil and caterpillars.
They are still desired, just differently than before.
Photosynthesis will come again from the next generation in the spring, after winter’s hibernation.
For now, find your way to rest and replenish in the hollow void.
