I love being reminded of how much more there is to learn out there. Of how multi-layered and multi-faceted people & places are. One of the ways I continue my education and spark my curiosity is through tarot. This week, Card of the Week will come from Leeza Robertson’s Cirque du Tarot. Last week on Moulin Rouge, has me wanting its onstage/offstage circus life.
I also have 78 Artist’s Cirque du Tarot close at hand, as I may want to do some comparisons… build on last week’s invitation for perspective shifts… Let’s see what we get to start.
10 of Pentacles.
Oh I definitely want a comparison, as this 10 of Pents is different, although familiar as it was a CotW last month too. I don’t know why Josh Tufts illustrated a card that is about bounty and abundance, family support and celebration, with someone sweeping the stage while the Devil and the Magician watch from the wings.
I like that the coins are coming from a bag.
I like the “imagine abundance” believe you deserve it, layer they have chosen to focus on. Mindset changes are powerful. One of my early teachers said something I repeat a lot: change your thoughts, change your words; change your words, change your actions; change your actions, change the world; but it all begins with your thoughts.
I miss the community aspect in this illustration which, for me, is so central to this card.
heheheh… the other Cirque du Tarot agreed and the deck split in my hands directly to the card! No searching necessary. Love!
Chelle Destefano’s illustration is much more what I expect in the 10 of Pentacles. I love the generations, the family dog; all are included on the trip to the carnival.
The clown flying in balloons is quite prevalent. There’s a theme from last week and today about getting different perspectives.
Generational.
Onstage.
Offstage.
Low to the ground.
3 stories up in the air.
Round and round on a carosel.
Cultural festivals.
Indoors.
Outdoors.
Through stained glass windows/rose or other tinted glasses.
It’s interesting that here, the pentacles flying in the air actually have the unicursal hexagram on them, which is a bit different. A union of masculine/feminine energy; of the Divine and the Elements; a symbol of Thelema; Figure of Love.
That last one was new to me.
Way back in the 1500’s, Giordano Bruno used the unicursal hexagram symbol to represent Figura Amoris (“figure of love”) part of the Hermetic Trinity in his mathesis. – Wikipedia
