Starcodes for the week of January 20-26, 2023

The Sun enters Aquarius today and calls us out of a deeply personal winter cycle – out of that introspective winter’s cave which so many of us have burrowed within, or longed to, over the last few weeks – to begin the season of self-expression and community responsibilities.

Aquarius helps us see the bigger picture. The Aquarian shadow side can make us so aware of everyone around us, their stories and their opinions, that we forget to listen to ourselves. Or the other extreme, lead us to block their opinions so we can let our eccentricity fly. This doesn’t have to be a paradox; we can look for the balance between. This month encourages us to explore how we can both authentically ourselves- which we may have rediscovered in our winter cave – and concurrently become more aware of our responsibilities to our families, teams, and political and global communities.

We could feel some turbulence in the changes. This is the third week in a row where a retrograde planet turns direct, and when a planet does so it stirs things up. First it was Mars, a few days ago Mercury turn direct, and this weekend Uranus turns direct after many months retrograde. All planets now appear to move forward and give us a stellar green light to forge ahead for the next few months. We can finally get somewhere, though where will still be up to us.

Along with the Uranian turbulence, we could notice an ambient nervous angst as Mercury, still in its shadow until early February, goes through some minor but overthinking or anxiety-producing aspects this week. Mercury quincunx Mars on Friday, semi-squares Venus on Sunday, then semi-squares Saturn on Monday. Notice the mental habit of worry and don’t buy into it, but do review recent lessons about the soul, personal needs, and how our mind works. These little minor discomforts and communication glitches can just make us nervous- or push us to clear the ground, get centered, and build more robust communications systems- depending on how we choose to respond.

Another effect of this series of aspects could be to test our systems of transportation. Check road conditions and plane schedules. Listen for a discussion around rebuilding better roads, improving cars and how airlines run.

Our emotions can be steadied as Venus conjunct Saturn while Uranus turns direct on Sunday. If things get strange, and they well could, rely on familiar habits, old friends, routines, and history, to stay grounded while dealing with the unusual winds of weather, fate, and fortune. But let’s not add to the strangeness by testing our relationships or withholding, both Venus- Saturn issues, instead let’s be there for one another. Stability can be a Venus-Saturn gift.

Early next week a sensitizing Pisces Moon can leave us feeling low or delicate, but this could help us remember to take care of ourselves even while we engage the world. The busier we are, the more we need to remember what we’ve learned about ourselves this winter. While we re-immerse into the crowds let’s consider what we need to protect our sensitivity, our immune system, and our energy reserves.

After we’ve reconnected to our teams and remembered good self-care, let’s get organized and headed forward. Initiated change, start a project. Launch a potential PR campaign or get the word out. Set the sails so we can use a gust of momentum on Wednesday as the Moon enters Aries and conjuncts expansive Jupiter. Notice a whiff of spring rebellion in the air. What shall we make so in the year ahead?

Starcodes week of January 20 through 26

Friday, January 20: Expect an interestingly political day as the Sun enters collective Aquarius and the competent Capricorn Moon conjuncts Mercury in the morning and trines Uranus midday. Step back from personal issues and look around, notice the group dynamics at work, at home, and in the national news; let’s notice our role in the process, question motives and support what’s working.

Sun enters Aquarius 1:29 AM, Moon conjunct Mercury 1:30 AM, Moon trine Uranus 11:54 AM, Mercury quincunx Mars 6:06 PM.

Saturday, January 21: Morning could bring a thoughtful crankiness or possibly a need to wrestle with some tough reality as the Moon conjunct Pluto. Tend the tender hearts. The new Moon in Aquarius midday instigates a new cycle in our community relationships: network, connect, check in with one another, and feel that supportive web. Share camaraderie tonight.

Moon sextile Neptune 1:00 AM, Moon conjunct Pluto 8:52 AM, Moon enters Aquarius 11:28 AM, Moon conjunct the Sun 1:53 PM, Moon sextile Jupiter 6:08 PM.

Sunday, January 22: Happy Chinese New Year, first day of the year of the rabbit, predicted the softer and more aspirational than last year’s fierce and strategic year of the Tiger. Expect some turbulence in the force today, but also an opportunity to move forward on a change that’s been on hold, as Uranus turns direct after many months retrograde. Don’t expect things to make sense, do just take the pragmatic next step, stay grounded and introspective as Venus conjunct Saturn. Take responsibilities to beloveds not as a burden, but as an opportunity to weave connection.

Mercury semi-square Venus 12:41 AM, Moon trine Mars 1:01 AM, Moon square Uranus 10:49 AM, Venus conjunct Saturn 3:12 PM, Uranus stations direct 3:58 PM.

Monday, January 23: The Moon enters sensitive Pisces and we can worry, instead less use this sensitivity to find a more subtle, creative and heartfelt way through. Ambiguity and uncertainty create discomfort. If we feel anxious today it will help to know that people are reliable, on task, doing what they said they’d do, or to get a clear signal that plans changed. Relax, but keep that information flowing. Report in and check all schedules late afternoon as Mercury semi-squares Saturn.

Moon conjunct Saturn 2:24 AM, Moon conjunct Venus 3:19 AM, Moon enters Pisces 10:35 AM, Mercury semi-square Saturn 4:09 PM.

Tuesday, January 24: Putter and daydream, take care of one another, tap into the imaginative Muse and make sure actions align with vision as the Sun sextile Jupiter under a wafting Pisces Moon. It may look less efficient, but instead of pushing forward with willpower, it will serve us to connect in to a deeper picture and heal some frayed feelings before we proceed.

Moon square Mars 12:56 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 2:58 AM, Moon sextile Uranus 10:42 AM, Venus semi-square Chiron 5:46 PM, Sun sextile Jupiter 6:30 PM.

Wednesday, January 25: Look around, get organized this morning and get headed in the right direction, ready to use a wave of momentum as the Moon enters activated Aries and conjuncts Jupiter. Doubts lift, for better or worse. Watch for strange anger flashes or minor accidents of enthusiasm and speed. Open up, leap forward, and act, just think carefully about which direction to leap.

Moon conjunct Neptune 12:42 AM, Moon sextile Pluto 9:11 AM, Moon enters Aries 11:47 AM, Moon conjunct Jupiter 8:18 PM, Moon sextile Sun 9:58 PM.

Thursday, January 26: Tempers flare easily if we don’t have a productive place to put our energy. We can find it frustrating that other people are not working on our timing. If so, look within; this frustration may come from a fresh awareness of vulnerability, emotional needs, or a tug on the compassionate heartstrings (rather than a real problem in their behavior) as Venus enters Pisces. Let our bravery protect our tender feelings so they can unfold and guide the way.

Moon sextile Mars 3:39 AM, Moon square Mercury 8:07 AM, Venus enters Pisces 7:32 AM.
