Over the Hump by Kate Mura of Group Tarot
A space for tarot reflection for the day, week, or moment it comes across your screen. Each of these is reworked intentionally for The Edge, from the egregore of Group Tarot’s Card of the Week, to center education, diversity, and intuition.

Card of the Week almost didn’t happen today.
I had ridiculously full days leading up to a long travel day Tuesday. I’m grateful all my flights were delayed in ways that meant I was able to make all my flights – which easily could have played out differently.
In New Mexico – mark your calendars and spread the word! – I’ll be teaching a speed dating version of Moving Through The Majors – learning the Major Arcana through your unique body, Wed May 3, at The Cell theatre in Albuquerque. 6:30pm. 2 hours, 22 cards, $40.
There will also be a special salon, a small invited gathering to The Tarot Show with special guest, world renowned percussionist Issa Malluf. He has been a dear friend for years and I am soooo excited to weave our worlds together the evening of May 6th. Message me directly for details.
CotW is happening today, because I’m remembering some of my own medicine and tool kit: all my previous week’s writings!
Rather than go the online bibliomancy method which I write about here, I’m going to do a retrospective, seeing where we were last year and the year before.
Stepping back to April 2022, I tested positive for Covid and took the week off to heal. Y’all almost got a similar message today!
Going back another step, to April 2021, I wasn’t writing for The Edge yet, but I was giving Card of the Week to my mailing list. It was,
The World
Mmmm… what I wrote then still holds true,
It’s interesting to look back, think about my health, the health of the world, all species, all peoples, beautifully illustrated in Cade Burkhammer’s Wise Fool Tarot.
Think about my bouts with Covid – so grateful to be vaccinated – my friend’s. How they’re similar, how they are vastly different – two dear ones in my life are nurses. Their experiences are wrenching.
If these cards are steps on a staircase, personal health, personal sickness, this year should be a personal health year, yet I am not feeling my healthiest.
Am I sick? No, otherwise I wouldn’t have flown. I was one of the few masked travelers.
Am I fully energized? Not really. I’m really looking forward to sleeping in my super comfy bed now that I’m safely landed in NM.
“This is the healthy half of The Universe. The zen, centered, empowered, connected to all creation that is not just possible but palpable right now.
Yes, right now.
Even as a pandemic rages, species die at record numbers, unarmed Black people and the houseless are killed by police, there is no time like the present to listen and learn from all the diverse traditions of the world, hear and find their similarities and allow them to rest in your body.
To sit, breathe, meditate, look into the mystery that is we are all connected. We are all one and we are all individual.
Overlap is found; emerges.
The same things have many names.
There are more things in heaven and earth… than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
{insert your name where good Horatio’s would go…}
Dream it.
Envision it.
Meditate on it.
Be it.
Birth it.
Bring what ever it is for you out into the World.
Indeed, you’re the only one who can.
And you, and you, and you, and you… Each of us with our unique intersections.
As above, so below. As within, so without.”
How can you be a little more of the healthy part of the World right now?
I’m going to make some more fresh ginger lemon Sandia pepper tea, do my gratitude practice and head to sleep.
How about you?

“Ralph is currently at home with the family. He can ambulate and communicate. A true miracle considering what he survived. Each day is different. He has a long road ahead. However, we are very thankful that he is still here with us. I’ve been taking the time to read the emails and comments to Ralph. It warms our hearts to see him smile at all the kind words. Thank you so much for loving Ralph”
