Starcodes for the week of May 26 – June 1, 2023

Pollen and petals float on the wind, birds sing, and travel plans commence as the mutable Gemini season kicks in over Memorial Day weekend. In Gemini season people wrap up the school semester, relocate, make contacts for the summer, gossip, flirt, and take short-term trips. Gemini’s gift is cross-pollination and the ability to lightly share resources with one another to see what can grow.

Gemini encourages us to explore new connections and honor memories on Memorial Day. But in daily circumstances, like a gentle lilac-scented breeze, the nervy, talkative, broad-spectrum Gemini energy can be both lovely and a shallow or transitory brush across the surface.

We have to at the depth, but that’s not hard to do with the recent tough T-square in fixed signs, between Mars in Leo, Pluto in Aquarius, and Jupiter in Taurus which adds muscle and drive to anything we start but has also stirred up conflict around the globe. It can call us to work on some old trigger points, conundrums, technical glitches, or can just leave us occasionally grouchy. This aspect was exact last week but echoes through the next few weeks.

Part of the underlying tension we feel could be some impending changes or adjustments which almost occurred back in April when Mercury approached a conjunction with Uranus right before it turned retrograde and brought a big change in media spokespeople. Mercury is now direct, picking up apparent speed, and perfects its conjunction to Uranus on June 4. We are then out of the Mercurial retrograde shadow and events will pick up speed. Look for announcements, changes in personnel, new approaches, consider acquiring new cars or technology if needed.

None of these aspects are particularly introspective. While we can talk and analyze until the cows come home- it’s not an easy time to figure out why we’re doing what we’re doing, or to even bring that conversation up. The surface can be light and breezy, with deep primal forces swirling beneath, driving action. We can work on our behaviors. But if we’re tempted to look for who’s at fault or what needs to change, let’s remember to look inward as well as outwards, because that may not be an automatic process.

Now this Memorial Day weekend may be less social and more project-oriented this year. Venus sextile Uranus calls for a break in routine, but that doesn’t mean we sit back and rest, because this aspect also loans us a creative restlessness. This, along with a Moon in diligent Virgo and the Sun square responsible Saturn, make it a good weekend to focus on our health and our house projects. If we have a wall to rebuild or ceiling to paint, now is the time. But don’t just work, take a day trip or putter in the garden and make new connections. If we stay at home and just wash the dishes, we will get cranky.

Monday is sociably relaxed, if steeped in memories. Have a picnic as the sociable Libra Moon trines the sun, heal relationships, honor those who passed, and form new connections and understanding in the neighborhood. Focus returns midweek and calls for a surge of effort to punctuate or complete as the obsessive Scorpio Moon hits off that T-square on Wednesday and Thursday. Stay clear of emotional landmines- because they will explode under that Scorpio Moon depth charge- and focus on manageable challenges instead.

Starcodes week of May 26 through June 1

Friday, May 26: Work and love relationships need extra attention, purpose, and spark as Venus sextile Uranus. If our heart is restless, let’s ask what we’re really hungry for before we cause any problems with ongoing relationships. Add spark to all conversations, see even old friends with fresh eyes. Tonight, if the long week takes its toll and we realize just how tired we are as the Moon enters Virgo, we don’t have to complain, just take care of ourselves.

Moon square Uranus 12:38 AM, Venus sextile Uranus 1:36 AM, Moon enters Virgo 9:05 PM.

Saturday, May 27: Personal work projects compete with a desire to have fun. So, let’s either take turns with those impulses or have the best time we can -while we mend or paint the fence as the Virgo Moon opposes Saturn midday. Watch a tendency to get cranky and demand people do things in a particular way, loosen that sense of control and be surprised by what gift this may bring. The conversation buzzes tonight, share from the mind and heart as the Moon trines Mercury.

Moon trine Jupiter 1:53 AM, Moon square Sun 9:22 AM, Moon opposed Saturn 10:52 AM, Moon trine Mercury 9:07 PM.

Sunday, May 28: Uncertainty, confusion, responsibility, tiredness can compete and leave us feeling stuck or mopey. It’s better to do something constructive, then rest and talk over our uncertainty without sitting in judgment of ourselves or others while the Sun squares Saturn and Mercury semi-squares Neptune. Make tonight a lovely summer’s moment as the Moon sextile Venus.

Sun squares Saturn 4:46 AM, Mercury semi-square Neptune 8:40 AM, Moon trine Uranus 1:12 PM, Moon sextile Venus 6:19 PM.

Monday, May 29: Have a picnic on this social day of the holiday weekend. Don’t make relationship decisions right now as some cloud can make it harder to see what’s underneath while the Moon opposes Neptune- but do decide how to treat one another and model it in all dealings. Let’s begin how we intend to go on. Take a moment to respect the memories on this Memorial Day. Watch alcohol consumption and the driving of those who started too early, and think through last-minute impulses tonight, as the Moon sextile Mars.

Moon opposed Neptune 3:45 AM, Moon enters Libra 8:50 AM, Moon trine Pluto 9:12 AM, Moon sextile Mars 7:21 PM.

Tuesday, May 30: Reconnect and get oriented. Check in with the team, friends, and get an overview of the next few steps. The mood is not detailed oriented- but it is openhearted- so build collaboration while the friendly Libra Moon trines the Sun. Tend the tender shoots of all new possibilities.

Moon trine Sun 1:38 AM, Moon opposed Chiron 8:54 PM.

Wednesday, May 31: Deal with people early on, and then give the busy brain something to focus or obsess upon productively. We may suddenly be aware of a problem, but need to keep it in perspective, look for solutions rather than blame. Doubts arise and can turn easily into a cranky or suspicious focus as the Moon enters Scorpio and squares Pluto around dinnertime, keep them in proportion. Unwind later in the evening.

Moon square Venus 8:53 AM, Moon enters Scorpio 5:45 PM, Moon square Pluto 6:02 PM.

Thursday, June 1: Birds sing, flowers bloom, events are planned, and yet there’s still some swirling discontent and inner conflict underneath as the brooding Scorpio Moon squares Mars, and Mars quincunx Saturn. Youth challenges age, enthusiasm challenges aching bones, our desires challenge our responsibilities. Let’s find ways to fight less within, take turns, and see to all needs.

Moon opposed Jupiter 12:03 AM, Moon square Mars 6:11 AM, Moon trine Saturn 6:29 AM, Mars quincunx Saturn 1:30 PM.
