New Gemini Moon 2023

“I’ve begun worshiping the Sun for a number of reasons. First of all, unlike some other gods I could mention, I can see the Sun. It’s there for me every day. And the things it brings me are quite apparent all the time: heat, light, food, and a lovely day. There’s no mystery, no one asks for money, I don’t have to dress up, and there’s no boring pageantry.”
– George Carlin

The Sun is the source of all life. Without it, we’re dead. With it, the plants have something to eat. We then can eat the plants and stay alive! Whatever, wherever, WHENever the source of the Sun’s energy is, that energy equates to our life energy, our Chi, our consciousness, our existence, and our being. But that energy came from somewhere.

Some of us call it God or Goddess or Great Mystery or Source but whatever and wherever and whenever it is, FROM it emerges the Sun; the central source of light, energy, food, and gravity, that the planets/archetypes and ourselves revolve around.

The Sun, astrologically, can therefore equate to our whole reason for existence, our whole intention for being, and where our life energy resides. How do we know what that is? How do we find it? How do we align with it? How do we know what it is trying to tell us?

Mercury, the planet immediately following the Sun, ergo, represents the translator of this life energy into symbols, portends, clues, synchronicities, thoughts, words, and impressions that our human mind can begin to interpret and disseminate meaning from. Mercury is our universal ability to focus in on our core intentions, our alignment with those intentions, and the ability to connect those intentions for life with the world outside of us.

We feel the inspiration to create, and Mercury looks for the paint brush! We have an intention to heal, so we explore how to do that. Thanks to our Mercury function, we use our many perceptive abilities to align with whatever we consider ‘Source’ to be. We can then follow the ‘correct’ path to the manifestation of our deepest intentions for being here in this beautiful, crazy world.

Complexities arise when our perceptive filter becomes tainted with opinion, fear, and comparison. Past experience, trauma, even genetic predispositions can affect the shade of our lens. Through which lens shall we choose to see this life? Are we looking through the lens of each moment with clarity, objectivity, and the absence of assumption, expectation, projection, and bias? That’s our work these days.

With Mercury being the planetary ruler of Gemini, and with this New Gemini Moon, exact at 11:36 PM central on June 17, it is important that we set an intention to cleanse our avenues of perception, to receive the messages from ‘Source’ more clearly. We may have been so frantic lately that it is possible that our lenses have been colored with anxiety, responsibility, concern, and intensity. Mis, or conflicting, information, social pressure, jobs, families… There is always something else coloring the screen.

Now is the time to set the intention for listening to our core truth. What are our next correct choices in our life? How can we love ourselves completely? How can we feel more stable and secure? How can we encourage more ease and flow? How can our lives become more sustainable? How can we maintain alignment with our core intentions of being?

These, and many other questions may be on our screen right now. Quieting our minds, clearing our eyes and ears, and simply being patiently aware for the next opportunity to present itself, will bring us the information we may now be ready for.
