Summer seeps in as roses unfurl, vegetables grow, and students graduate. Our whole mood can grow more romantic, engaged, sociable, and a tad melodramatic as Venus joins Mars in extroverted Leo on Monday through early July. It’s a time of festivals and gatherings, protests and campaigns, graduation parties and weddings. New relationships can unfurl like those summer roses.
On a good day these two planets in Leo will help us appreciate the grace notes of life and share our generous heart, help us see the beauty in each person we meet. They are the center of our universe for that moment. We hope to be the center of theirs. But Venus and Mars in Leo can also bring an addiction to drama or melodrama if life is not enriched and fulfilling enough, so watch for political grandstanding, performative comments, and what feels like unnecessary emotional drama in relationships. We don’t need to feed those fires.
If we see a person acting out, let’s not buy into the drama, but do look for the truth underneath. If we feel operatic about our own emotions, let’s evaluate them with love, then find an authentic and poetic, rather than melodramatic, way to get our point across. Sometimes we just need to turn up the volume on our feelings in order to see what’s really there, what we truly need, but it would a lot simpler if we could just figure it out.
Friday begins with a focused Moon in Scorpio which can sharpen our edges but help us complete our projects and papers. It’s going to be a busy month, and our attention will be easily diverted, so the more we can stay on target and clear the decks now, the easier this month will be. Our hearts warm up later on Friday as Venus trines creative and inspirational Neptune. Feel the call for magic and bring in a flower, talk with a bee, spend time with a budding rose.
Saturday night brings the strawberry Moon, the sweet early summer full Moon in Sagittarius that wants us to travel, howl, dance, and ponder the nature of personal and political freedom. This full Moon can ask us to speak up, speak the truth we’ve been denying either to ourselves or to others; just let go of the charge and speak the truth. Then be willing to listen to theirs. We just need to remember that this one truth may be real and honest, and still be only one part of a more complex picture.
Sunday keeps up that wild dancing feet and pushes us to contemplate changes that have been brooding all year. In late April Mercury almost conjunct Uranus, then turned retrograde, at that point we saw a big shift in the faces of media but may have had to put some changes on hold. Mercury is direct, heading out of its shadow and picking up speed, and effects it’s conjunction to Uranus now. Look for the announcement of a shift in gears, a change in personnel, a shift in tectonic plates, watch for new possibilities opening up.
The week begins on a more serious note as the Moon enters determined Capricorn, Venus enters Leo and opposes deep Pluto. Be ready to leap into action to handle some crisis but don’t create one just to express feelings. Some event could trigger emotions and need processing, whether it’s the end of the term or an imminent move, change has an emotional impact. We can’t follow an exciting new road without leaving an old one, so let’s be gentle on ourselves even as we do what needs to be done.
Camaraderie and enthusiasm returns on Wednesday as the Moon enters community-oriented Aquarius and encourages us to collaborate and coordinate our next phase, whatever that may be. Bring in extra voices and get a bigger perspective.
Friday, June 2: We all need to feel appreciated for our good efforts. Focus and finish work, clear the decks. What is out of whack can feel painful, so rearrange life to create more beauty on all levels as the Scorpio Moon forms a grand time with Venus and Neptune. Enjoy dreaming but be aware that that can take away from present action. Keep eyes open for new connections tonight as the Moon enters Sagittarius tonight, take a stroll under the starry skies.

Saturday, June 3: We have to first be honest with ourselves, and then we can be honest with others, otherwise, it’s all just talk. Though some people may bluster and forget that their truth is not necessarily the real truth. The waxing Moon in Sagittarius stirs us up, makes it hard to sit still and concentrate, it can lower our impulse control and encourage us to hike, garden, talk to an animal, get out of the house. The full Moon at 9:41 PM tonight asks us to free our feet, our soul, and our world.

Sunday, June 4: Our nerves and enthusiasm buzz from last night’s full Moon and today’s Mercury Uranus conjunction in Taurus. Changes are afoot, some of them surprising; sudden decisions, new chapters endings and beginnings. Change in personnel and faces. Anything is possible, but to make wise changes we need to think through the consequences. Tonight the buzz softens, the imagination percolates, and sleep seems possible as the moon squares Neptune.

Monday, June 5: Follow through on those decisions, step towards that next chapter as the Moon enters competent Capricorn and Venus enters expressive Leo. We could feel tugged between what we want to do and some important work that truly needs to be followed through for the next two days. Get the work done first. Venus opposes Pluto and tugs at the heart; honor ghosts of the past but don’t let them run this show. Do let them crack the heart open and into compassionate action. Watch controlling behavior coming from some fear of loss, honor the feelings but refuse to participate and reward that behavior.

Possibilities pop up the summer, so now is a good time to work that garden. If we don’t like where things are headed, let’s make the effort to change directions now before momentum builds.

Wednesday, June 7: Overnight our doubts and concerns nudge us as the Moon enters Aquarius and conjunct Pluto. We may wake up worried about the state of the world. Don’t jump to conclusions but do take gentle actions to improve the situation. By evening we’ll see better what needs to be done versus what needs to be released.

Take a break and look at the problem again tomorrow.
