Starcodes week of April 11-17, 2025

It’s another blustery week under busy celestial winds. The planets suggest potentially angry waters and strong emotions, shifting tectonic plates and economic schemes, but they also can bring opportunities for a real breakthrough. Through it all, our personal lives can be sweet and understanding- where we’re not swept about by the big political winds of our time.

No planet is in an earth sign this week, except for chaotic Uranus – not a grounding planet; we have to add the level-headed common sense ourselves. Venus, retrograde since early March and now in perceptive Pisces, turns direct this weekend. Mars is still in watery, self-protective Cancer and trines Venus in Pisces, both sensitive water signs, so strong feelings run deep. both.

As Venus turns direct she can really stir the creative juices for the next few weeks. We can also come to a fresh understanding and sweeten our connections if we stay present to one another and don’t load tender hearts with heavy expectations. But if there are hidden resentments, hurts, or longings in a relationship, they could come to the surface and need to be managed with love and spaciousness. Watch a tendency to perseverate unproductively on painful moments and bring that mind to interpersonal seeds we want to grow instead.

Mental Mercury, only recently direct, now begins to pick up speed. As Mercury approaches a conjunction with creative, foggy Neptune next week, it can feel like logistical Mercury is still retrograde. Keep an eye on weather, floods, or other water damage which can interfere with transportation or communications. And keep an eye out for wild misperceptions or obfuscation, or a need to daydream, which is lovely, when it does not send minds flying just when we have a deadline. This conjunction can help us access our imagination and spiritual resources, but we can get lost in our hopes and fears; stock markets respond to emotional transits, not logical ones. Dream big, use that Neptunian imagination on purpose, then look for neutral facts to refine those dreams.

The Moon waxes full as the heart-centered Libra Moon opposes the feisty Aires Sun on Saturday- just as Venus turns direct. This relationally exciting full Moon in Libra shines a light on questions of social justice and on any tension between our need for relationships and our need for independence. It calls for balance and fairness, its motto is – no justice, no peace – know justice, know peace, both in the political realm and at home.

Mars normally spends only a few months in a sign but because of its retrograde cycle it hovered in well-defended Cancer, where it is not comfortable (opposite Capricorn, the sign of its exaltation) since September. On Sunday, the Moon enters Scorpio, for the next few days the Sun and Moon are both in decisive Mars – rules signs and people can get edgy, pointed, focused, or potentially nasty if cornered. Give people room for their pride, room to think about what is said, rather than make them deal with it on the spot; otherwise expect the scorpion sting.

Next Wednesday, as Mercury re-enters fierce, direct, spontaneous Aries and conjuncts intuitive, unrealistic Neptune. Look for mischief, whether a twinkle in people’s eyes or full -on rebellion. Put dreams into action.

Friday, April 11: Morning brings thoughtful, melancholic reassessment about what’s out of balance as the waxing, heart-connected, Libra Moon trines Pluto and highlights how fairness, appreciation, and balance can bring security while injustice, divisive scorn, and unbalanced shifts shake up that security. Make no sudden moves; like walking through a bog, we can remember where the last solid footing resided – and build from there. The afternoon grows more practical, less existential. Tonight, share a moment with beloveds, engage the arts, go to a poetry reading; feed Venus even in uncertain times under this Venusian Libra Moon.

Moon trine Pluto 2:37 AM.

Saturday, April 12: Don’t waste a drift of illogical optimism as the Libra Moon trines Jupiter; take this momentary lightness as a reprieve for the long haul, like oxygen when swimming underwater. Midday show up for a moment when people need knowledge learned the hard way, from experience, while the Sun conjuncts Chiron. Tonight, engage a potentially lovely wild evening; all emotions run strong as the Moon waxes full at 6:22 PM while Venus turns direct. This full Moon highlights any tension between our Libran desire for peaceful relationships and the Aries love of free independence; find a path incorporating both.

Moon trine Jupiter 7:19 AM, Sun conjunct Chiron 9:59 AM, Moon opposed Sun 6:22 PM, Venus stations direct 7:02 PM.

Sunday, April 13: Morning is edgy, potentially uncomfortable as the Moon enters guarded, focused Scorpio and squares Pluto. Be kind around a sullen ache or longing for a better moment, process any rising feelings but let them flow through and direct the focus towards solutions. Everybody can be a little snappy, so if feeling twitchy around beloveds, take a break. Vent about world events if necessary, but don’t dump on one another. Be helpful, don’t stoke the fires of discontent. It’s a good obsessive day to finish last-minute taxes, take on some worthy challenge and obsess wisely.

Moon square Mars 4:01 AM, Moon enters Scorpio 7:53 AM, Moon square Pluto 3:26 PM.

Monday, April 14: Unsettled aspects can shift us in a good direction as the Sun semi-sextiles Venus and Uranus – while Venus and Uranus sextile. Take no one for granted, break routine together, go exploring. Be productively restless. People can change their minds – not because anybody pushes them under this stubborn, suspicious Scorpio Moon – but because they’re curious and discover something new. Let the world push them; don’t back anyone into a corner, give people room for their pride. Ask tough questions, but don’t look for information just to confirm personal bias.

Sun semi-sextile Venus 2:51 AM, Sun semi-sextile Uranus 11:19 PM.

Tuesday, April 15: It feels good to focus on one thing at a time, but we might not get the chance. Restless, unsettled aspects midday – Moon opposed Uranus while the Sun semi-sextile Saturn – ask us to look at something seriously even though we might rather run away. Expect resistance for any misuse of power or control. Look for a clearer map of action by dinner time as the Scorpio Moon trines decisive Mars and thoughtful Mercury, then enter Sagittarius. Look for a silver lining – a break in tension – tonight.

Moon trine Venus 10:03 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 11:30 AM, Moon trine Saturn 12:59 PM, Sun semi-sextile Saturn 5:31 PM, Moon trine Mars 6:51 PM, Moon trine Mercury 8:22 PM, Moon enters Sagittarius 8:36 PM, Moon trine Neptune 9:50 PM.

Wednesday, April 16: We can be hot-headed as Mercury enters Aries and conjuncts intuitive but confusing Neptune. The mood is impulsive, creative, direct, ready to begin – but without being able to quite see where we’re going. Our intuition is strong, but our perceptions are easily-tweaked by our equally strong emotions, our hopes and fears. Don’t believe all stories spinning; question all rumors. Dream big, pray hard, submit plans, hope for the future, and speak up where needed. Be situationally aware and enjoy ambient enthusiasm, but think things through; let logic and intuition work together to stay safe.

Mercury enters Aries 12/20 4:00 AM, Moon sextile Pluto 4:07 AM, Mercury conjunct Neptune 10:10 PM.

Thursday, April 17: This last day of Mars in Cancer can bring our defensive genius into play, though a straightforwardly honest but playful attitude can help us find a way through. Review all tough lessons learned since last September, do not perseverate on the wrongs, but do map out what to do differently next time. Mars heads into Leo tonight under the fiery Sagittarius Moon. Hot heads get hotter, so do hearts-so blow off steam constructively.

Moon opposed Jupiter 10:11 AM, Mars enters Leo 10:20 PM, Moon trine Venus 10:40 PM.
