Starcodes week of April 18-24, 2025

This week’s astrological heat stays strong as mental Mercury moves forward in feisty Aries, trines Mars in expansive fiery Leo, and keeps our thoughts quick, to the point, ready to take action, but not always well-aimed: that’s up to us. Our active Sun has been shooting off flares, rattling our atmosphere with high level geomagnetic storms, and turning up the volume on all the planetary aspects. The energy is volatile, it gives us fuel to rumble or to make good things happen- if we have our engines ready and our directions clear.

Mars has just entered feisty Leo after seven months in Cancer and adds to the bravado and ego issues of world dynamics but can also give us each room to stand strong and joyfully express ourselves. Watch for wild street theater in the months ahead.

As the weekend begins the Sun is still in Aries with the Moon in competent and determined Capricorn. Use the momentum to get stuff done, but rein in an ambient pushiness; don’t organize other people unless they specifically request, and don’t get caught up in other people’s circuses. We are living through a wild political circus these days and need to stay awake and active, but we don’t need to hand that circus our soul’s peace.

The Sun enters stabilizing Taurus on Saturday, a good fertile, fixed, earth sign; like a rooting seed, Taurus energy encourages us to dig in. That Taurus Sun squares Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius this weekend, all stubborn fixed signs, forming a T-square. Look for set jaws and heels well-planted, all while flowers bloom and roots deepen. All this week we could see a major battle of wills play out in the headlines or at home, which could build to a confrontation next week as Mars perfects its opposition to Pluto. We can also use this determined energy to raise a barn or solve a problem.

If our family celebrates Easter, stay cool, keep the heart open, and be ready to step outside for a breath of fresh air. This Sunday brings a crazy lineup of aspects that can keep the pot boiling. That T-square perfects on Sunday, it can bring some wonderful family dinners if we bathe in mutual acceptance and don’t start a political argument, a big if. Mercury sextiles Pluto and brings our thoughts to serious things, like dying on a cross or dying in a foreign prison but can help us let go of the small stuff and remember the heart’s priorities. Venus sextiles Uranus which can inspire creative Easter eggs and help us find beauty in a tough week. Let it be a holiday to remember what matters; traditions are only worthwhile if they honor connection and spiritual source.

Early next week echoes of that t-square will act on the big political picture more than our interpersonal relationships, just don’t expect anybody to be flexible. The planets that affect relationships both challenge and support our love and appreciation. Mars in Leo encourages us to be more demonstrative but can make us really difficult if we feel ignored or undervalued, so be effusive with honest appreciation. It can bring a note of spring fever, flirtation, or romance where we feel loved and appreciated, or a creative surge when we’re with our art supplies but can also up our histamine level in response to spring pollen.

Midweek a Pisces moon highlights our tenderness and our vulnerability, and our desire to protect ourselves. The Sun squares Pluto on Wednesday come up bringing our focus to serious issues around the globe and asks us to use our empowerment wisely.

Venus approaches a conjunction with Saturn, perfecting on Thursday, and can leave us sensitized, needing to feel safe both in our homeland and at home. It’s an aspect that encourages us to love our work if our work is close to our life purpose, but work can interfere with our love life or creative process.

Friday, April 18: We want to get things done, but aren’t quite sure what that looks like. A willful, competence-inducing Capricorn Moon helps us structure and accomplish, but brings out our pushy side. This can make it tempting to manipulate others rather than do the work ourselves, or leave too many people steering the boat, with no one paddling. Find a clear goal in common with another rather than fight them on obvious differences. Tonight, it can be tempting to go to extremes, watch the tendency to party too hard or forget to stop work; find a constructive outlet for competitive energy.

Moon square Saturn 1:20 AM, Moon trine Sun 5:37 AM, Moon enters Capricorn 8:11 AM, Moon square Neptune 9:32 AM, Moon square Mercury 1150 AM.

Saturday, April 19: Get earthy in order to handle the otherwise blustery moods as the Sun enters Taurus under a durable Capricorn Moon, both earth signs. Walk in the woods and dig toes into the grass. Let chores be a grounding meditation, let the growing world feed the soul and offer good metaphors for survival. Mars in Leo’s gift is to see the divine spark in all life, its curse can make us only look for it in ourselves. Find that spark in any person and watch them unfold.

The Sun enters Taurus 1:55 PM, Mars trines Neptune 4:52 PM.

Sunday, April 20: This busy astrological time could bring out the best and worst. That industrious Capricorn Moon helps us dive into whatever work or creative project calls us, but it can keep that manipulative energy amped up, which can make Easter gatherings tricky. Venus sextiles Uranus can open up our heart and produce some creative eggs and hats. Tonight, step away from unnecessary arguments as the Moon enters Aquarius, opposes Mars, and squares the Sun. If possible, bring the conversation back to core shared priorities to awaken connection and compassion as Mercury sextiles Pluto.

Sun semi-sextile Neptune 8:35 AM, Moon sextile Venus 9:23 AM, Moon trine Uranus 9:26 AM, Moon sextile Saturn 11:20 AM, Venus sextile Uranus 12:20 PM, Mercury sextile Pluto 3:39 PM, Moon enters Aquarius 5:21 PM, Moon sextile Neptune 6:47 PM, Sun square Mars 7:33 PM, Moon opposed Mars 7:35 PM, Moon square Sun 7:35 PM.

Monday, April 21: Maybe it’s hard to wake up or we just don’t want to read the news over breakfast after the Moon conjunct Pluto overnight. Our moods lift the rest of the day, but action could start slowly or disjointedly, so track things carefully to complete. Communicate cleanly and directly to clarify rather than score points. Don’t get caught up in other people’s circus but hold the global community in light.

Moon conjunct Pluto at 12:19 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 12:59 AM.

Tuesday, April 22: Have meetings on this interactive day. Wrangle bureaucracy or engage other people-heavy, non-personal challenges while that Aquarius Moon trines expansive Jupiter. We may not be comfortable with emotional intimacy; we won’t necessarily be flexible but can be more open minded; make us curious rather than argue directly. Talk about the group dynamics, teamwork, family chores, national laws– how can we create a more egalitarian system. The evening may be less efficient, more emotional; we need more personal recognition as the Moon enters Pisces.

Moon trine Jupiter 5:04 AM, Moon square Uranus 3:55 PM, Moon enters Pisces 11:06 PM.

Wednesday, April 23: Our hearts can ache as the Sun squares Pluto, for a lost ideal or something just out of reach, or ache over a recent clash around personal authority. Loss and power struggles can weave through headlines. Situations can temporarily look worse than they are, hang in there and work the process. Stand for true beliefs, let go of the small stuff. Hold one another’s heart with gentleness. Honor people going through some real challenge right now, they don’t need pity, they need steady support.

Moon sextile Sun 5:13 AM, Sun square Pluto 11:01 AM.

Thursday, April 24: The mood is soft and melancholic, tender on one side and potentially ruthless on the other as Moon, Venus, and Saturn all conjunct in sensitive and perceptive Pisces and soften us, while Mars approaches an opposition to powerful Pluto and turns the heat up on conflict. We can easily tap into our inner victim or can feel concerned about a true sacrificial lamb somewhere in the world. Trustworthiness is vital; trust those who’ve proved themselves by action, not words. Let’s be true to our words.

Moon square Jupiter 9:09 AM, Venus and Saturn conjunct 6:01 PM, Moon conjunct Venus and Saturn 8:55 PM.
