Starcodes week of June 6-12, 2025

It’s a poignant week. Luckily, the Gemini Sun can help us adapt quickly to shifting moods. Venus, who has just entered its own earthy and delicious sign of Taurus, also adds stubbornness, sensuality, and stability to an otherwise sparky mix – though we could hunger for sweets and eat more than we need.

Some strong astrological crosscurrents act on our moods with both the most hopeful and the most melancholic of aspects. Mental Mercury conjuncts expansive Jupiter in Gemini, Mercury’s sign, opening possibilities and lifting our moods but revving our brains and nerves. Early next week Mercury and Jupiter both waltz out of Gemini and into more heart-centered but self-protective Cancer; Jupiter is now leading, strong and happy in its exaltation.

But all is not a nice helium ballon; as they enter Cancer, Mercury and Jupiter square Neptune and Saturn, the ongoing pairing – through next spring – that insists we work on the big existential problems of our time. This conjunction asks us who is in control, who is responsible, what is real and truthful, and what we are going to do about it.

Adding an ongoing poignant melancholia underneath, Venus in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius this week, which brings our hearts to issues around control, power, and loss in love and culture. It asks us to remember and understand what we’ve recently lost, whether a friend, funding, or a legal right. We need to process emotions but not get stuck there, use the Jupiterian optimism to move forward with better decisions in the face of these losses. Speak up.

Friday encourages us to wrap up work in a fair and equitable way under the Libra Moon, then the Scorpio Moon insists we grow more intimate with our own souls over the weekend.

Our perspective shifts, more ready to engage, more solutions focused early next week as the Moon waxes Full in upbeat, outspoken Sagittarius while Mercury conjuncts Jupiter. The week ends with competence, just watch a controlling streak under the Capricorn Moon.

Friday, June 6: Negotiate and mediate this morning while the fair and equitable Libra Moon echoes Venus in Taurus. This balancing work continues through early next week, but as long as we keep talking, we can pare down to essentials while Mercury sextiles Chiron and Venus approaches a square to Pluto. If afternoon brings temporary frustrations, roll with it, these are probably not permanent. Evening grows moody, either potentially oppositional or quite deliciously sparky; find another way to flirt or connect than an argument, maybe stick to pillow fighting, as Venus semi-sextile Saturn and the Moon enters Scorpio and opposes Venus.

Moon trine Mercury 10:55 AM, Mercury sextile Chiron 5:54 PM, Moon trine Jupiter 7:04 PM, Venus semi-sextile Saturn, Moon enters Scorpio 8:22 PM, Moon opposes Venus 10:22 PM.

Saturday, June 7: People – can’t live with them, can’t live without them; we won’t know if we want company or need time alone, or may long for something just beyond reach. If the whole world feels off-center or out of sync as Venus semi- sextiles Neptune and Mercury semi-sextiles Uranus, take a moment of existential wandering to reconnect within. Our chosen art forms can assist that inner conversation. If we can reconnect with our own soul first, we can then create better connections with others. Grow understanding, rather than try to get somewhere in particular.

Moon square Pluto 3:37 AM, Venus semi-sextile Neptune 10:23 PM, Mercury semi-sextile Uranus 11:31 PM.

Sunday, June 8: Although we’re still under the interior Scorpio Moon, possibilities begin to open. Our perspective shifts over the next two days as thoughtful Mercury conjuncts expansive Jupiter in Gemini – Mercury’s home, and they both step into Cancer, where Jupiter is exalted and brings out our calmer, more metaphysical sides. Let’s consider what we want to change and where we need a broader, more compassionate view. That’s easier to see in the big picture, but if we get cranky or klutzy tonight as the Moon squares Mars, go gently and be self-forgiving.

Mercury conjunct Jupiter 2:11 PM, Mercury enters Cancer 4:57 PM, Moon square Mars 11:56 PM.

Monday, June 9: Deal with nuts and bolts this morning, pragmatic underpinnings needed to manifest or cope with recent conclusions as Mercury squares Saturn and Neptune. We may have to make a final decision, choose a direction in a forked road. Concentration gets more challenging as the Moon enters restless, outspoken Sagittarius and tells us to get on with things, a mood which clashes with deeper concerns and an existential melancholy Venus squares Pluto. Don’t make people defend their feelings, just let them express their feelings and watch that do the work. By the end of the day, we could be so ready to let the details go and go into our own inner world as Mercury squares Neptune. Take down time, but do not drink and drive. Space out but stay situationally aware.

Mercury square Saturn 4:48 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 6:06 AM, Moon enters Sagittarius 8:55 AM, Moon trine Saturn 10:56 AM, Venus square Pluto 10:20 AM, Moon trying Neptune 12:55 PM Jupiter enters cancer 3:01 PM, Moon sextile Pluto 3:57 PM, Mercury square Neptune 4:54 PM.

Tuesday, June 10: Engage deep conversations. Invite, but don’t poke; people need to feel their boundaries respected in order to open up. They may also need to vent about some shrapnel of wrongs — not about us, but something they experienced recently, or noticed in the world, as Mercury challenges Pluto. Some people need to process, clear, and heal; others could look for comfort in manipulation- but won’t find it. Get into fresh air after a moment of heaviness. Dance under the full Moon in Sagittarius tonight.

Mars trine Chiron 1:36 AM, Mercury quincunx Pluto 11:12 AM.

Wednesday, June 11: Make hay while the Sun shines and before the fires start. Today can bring windows of opportunity as Mercury sextiles Venus right after a full Moon in Sagittarius at 1:43 AM MDT. Fresh honesty and mischief enrich the day; evening grows more competent and serious as the Moon enters Capricorn and squares Saturn and Neptune. If we have trouble sleeping tonight, let’s not waste our imagination perseverating over what’s already happened, that which we cannot change. Direct imagination forwards, not backwards.

Moon opposed Sun 1:43 AM, Mercury sextile Venus 1:40 PM, Moon trine Mars 1:57 PM, Moon enters Capricorn 7:54 PM, Moon square Saturn 10:06 PM, Moon square Neptune 11:50 PM.

Thursday, June 12: Our mind and our heart may disagree as the Capricorn Moon opposes Mercury in Cancer. It’s easy to misread numbers or drop the ball on a train of thought while our minds wander towards emotionally charged concerns. If we want to remember an important event, we can remember how we felt, find the emotional tag on that file, and pull up the information. Insecurities nag, keep humor engaged around personal ego issues, especially our own. Watch those ego insecurities act out on the big screen.

Moon trine Venus 8:21 AM, Moon opposed Mercury 9:55 AM.
