Starcodes for the week of August 29 – September 4, 2025
Labor Day weekend celebrates workers and our work by encouraging us to take a break from it, a very efficient Virgoan approach. Traditionally, Labor Day weekend is time to tend to our own work and savor the last few vacation days before the busy fall season kicks in.
But what is our work. That’s an easy question most years, just get on with it. But our world is changing so radically that our first work could be to help guide our world. This Virgo holiday calls for people who work for a living, the salt of the earth who are Virgo’s tribe, to recognize one another and assess how their concerns can be best understood and supported. Labor Day was not handed to us, protests and industrious, organized lobbying created this day and may be needed again soon. The next three years will be pivotal in how we organize our future world as Uranus trines Pluto and they both sextile Neptune, and Saturn.
On that first Labor Day, September 5th, 1882, Uranus trined Neptune as Saturn approached a conjunction to Pluto. These same major outer planets involved in a turning of the tide.
Venus and Mercury are now in Leo, inspiring loving potential, and creative expression, Mars is now in social-justice-seeking, aesthetic, and sometimes flirtatious, Libra. Any attempts to stifle another’s individual expression will be met with Leonine drama. Rainbow crosswalks painted over will emerge more glorious than before. It will backfire to shush a person; give them room to vent, just don’t pick up the bait. This social combination, Venus in Leo and Mars in Libra, is also good for kids working on making new friends at school and any of us reaching out to make new connections.
Friday begins under a serious Scorpio Moon, we may be painfully aware of some emotional weight, processing a recent loss or the change of the season as Venus pulls away from its week-long opposition to Pluto.
The Moon enters Sagittarius over the weekend and encourages connection, healing, and time out in the wild. Garden, Harvest, hike. On Labor Day, Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces and asks us to review lessons we’ve explored so far this year. There is no point in wasting time in guilt or blame, but let’s review what we’ve learned and where we’re going to take it next.
Work really kicks in on Tuesday as the Moon enters industrious Capricorn, Mental Mercury enters intelligence-inducing if nervy Virgo. Watch for dramatic manipulative movements in the big picture as we get evidence of new plans and see intentions revealed. Be willing to show up at work with ideas and a good work ethic. If worries and concerns arise, turn them into good stories and inspiration.
On Wednesday, look for a change of mind and a change of direction as Mercury squares Uranus; don’t get it too attached to any one path, stay busy and ready to adapt. As Mars approaches a square to Jupiter towards the end of the week, we could hate direct conflict but need to confront some unfairness or uncertainty. Step away from unnecessary competition but step up to the plate for what matters.

Friday, August 29: The mood is subdued, serious, sweet, but if we poke people we’ll get stung as the Scorpio Moon trines Jupiter. Time-share between a need for engagement encouraged by those Leo planets, and for solitude or a good fight under that protective Scorpio Moon. Some people may shoot themselves in the foot with revealing comments that let us know their true intentions or attitudes this afternoon as the Moon squares Mercury, so listen carefully. Tonight, go deep or go home- people need either privacy or time to process. Let the soul unwind.
Moon trine Jupiter 6:37 AM, Moon square Mercury 6:46 PM.
Saturday, August 30: Relax and feel a positive shift with more soul-spaciousness as the Moon enters Sagittarius and trines both Saturn and Neptune. Speak honestly but with humorous compassion. Let time outside heal under the peripatetic Sagittarius Moon. Roll with a spontaneous change of plans midday as the Moon opposes Uranus. Open to the ephemeral beauty of this late summer moment as Venus trines the Moon tonight.
Moon enters Sagittarius 8:04 AM, Moon trine Saturn 8:18 AM, Moon trine Neptune 10:52 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 10:59 AM, Moon sextile Pluto 11:41 AM, Moon trine Venus 9:11 PM.
Sunday, August 31: We have the capacity for honest healing conversations as mental Mercury trines the asteroid Chiron, an asteroid that encourages us to compost our pain and problems into new wisdom. Ask old people for advice, put it in the toolbox, ready to use if needed. Work together on projects where skills can be passed along.
Moon square Sun 12:24 AM, Mercury trine Chiron, Moon sextile Mars.
Monday, September 1: One more day to celebrate not laboring on this Labor Day, doing our own projects instead of working for others, supporting our health, ecosystem, and our love of freedom, all true Sagittarian-Moon things. Ponder what freedom means to you. Tonight, turn towards the practicalities of the week ahead; get organized to hit the ground running tomorrow as the Moon enters Capricorn and Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces.
Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces 2:05 AM Moon squares Saturn 7:38 PM, Moon enters Capricorn 7:44 PM, Moon square Neptune 10:19 PM.
Tuesday, September 2: Our thoughts turn to the fall agenda as Mercury enters nervy, efficient Virgo under an industrious Capricorn Moon. Don’t mistake worry for competence as Mercury quincunx Saturn and Neptune, just begin and progress. Write, then edit, do not edit as you write. Instead of criticizing good ideas, encourage first and weed that garden later. It can be easy to think nice thoughts but only speak our criticism, though that’s just the nervousness in the wind. Be nice to one another.
Mercury quincunx Saturn 6:20 AM, Mercury enters Virgo 7:22 AM, Moon trine Sun 4:23 PM, Mercury quincunx Neptune 11:43 PM.
Wednesday, September 3: This day could feel fraught with nervy uncertainty as Mercury squares Uranus, quincunx Pluto, and semi-squares Mars. It could be just mental tension, but watch for mechanical problems, judgment issues, or suddenly changing circumstances. Watch for wild statements in the news. Slow down and let plans mutate to fit the changes, focus on the potential for a positive outcome.
Mercury square Uranus 1:40 AM, Mercury quincunx Pluto 5:04 AM, Moon square Mars 5:19 AM, Moon opposed Jupiter 650 AM, Mercury semi-square Mars 7:46 PM.
Thursday, September 4: Let any competition be with our personal best as Mars in Libra squares Jupiter and inspires striving while the Aquarius Moon conjuncts Pluto in Aquarius this morning and can haunt us with a passing free-form existential angst. Let the mind wander, but don’t overthink, if caught in a mental hamster-wheel, give the brain a healthy assignment. We can use this mental business to set clear goals in line with our philosophy. If we feel disconnected, let it inspire effort to reach out to the natural world, to a beloved, or to our community. We heal together.
Jupiter trine the north node 1:08 AM, Mercury semi-square Jupiter 2:38 AM, Moon sextile Saturn 4:07 AM, Moon enters Aquarius 4:31 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 6:51 AM, Moon trine Uranus 7 at 12:00 AM, Moon conjunct Pluto 7:40 AM, Mars square Jupiter 8:58 PM.
