Stages of Faith 6: Moving into Higher Consciousness

Stage 6 (Fowler’s Stage 5) is about Conjunctive Faith

Fowler wrote his groundbreaking book in the 1970’s (the book was published in 1981). He found Stage 6 a difficult one to explain, since it wasn’t very common then. This is the stage where there is a “knowing” about life that is very complex. It moves beyond either/or thinking in Stage 5. Stage 6 is where many sides of a situation can be seen simultaneous to each other. A feature of this stage is that the individual is willing to let reality speak for itself regardless of the impact on the security or self-esteem of the knower.

This means there is an ability to be aware of your life’s circumstances along with being willing to work through your past – even if it is difficult. This means that denial is less apt to be present in your life. You just want to accept and be present with whatever life brings you.

Unlike Fowler’s day, I believe that many of us are in Stage 6 now. Many of us have been, and are delving into, our inner world and sorting through our past. Many of us are choosing to be in reality about our life circumstances and not sugar coat it into something that it is not. Many of us can see the complexities of life from many angles.

I am excited that so many of us are on this beautiful journey of Stage 6 together because it means that we are creating a critical mass into a new way of Being in the world!

Stage 7, (Fowler’s Stage 6) is about Universalizing Faith. In Fowler’s time, he didn’t know of anyone who was actually in this stage. The person in this stage has a faith that includes all of humanity and all Beings.

Those in Stage 7 embody what it is like to be an all-inclusive and fulfilled human and how it can apply to community. This person would set the tone for liberation from the shackles of social, religious, political, economic and ideology formats. They are all about unconditional love and unity consciousness which is what many of us have been preparing for in the last years by working with and ultimately through Stage 6.

How do we move into Stage 7’s optimal consciousness?

This can be difficult. Especially when we witness and hear of people hurting each other through greed, violence, censorship and slander. How do we feel unconditional love and all-inclusiveness with these types of things going on in the world?

Part of it is seeing, feeling and embodying something different than the current human story. To move out of the story of this temporary state of humanity is something that requires an insight and embodiment of a consciousness much higher than what is currently part of the human consciousness.

Many of us believe we are currently being prepared for this Stage 7 model of living on this planet due to the expanding vibrations filtering onto the planet. You might see it as the planets and stars lining up in just the exact correct configuration which then shifts the way energy is downloaded and/or experienced on the planet.

You may see it as a part of the chaos theory where anything that’s been stagnant for too long will naturally move into chaos thus bringing about inevitable change. You may see this whole storyline as a hologram that isn’t actually real – something we’ve chosen to experience for learning. Or perhaps you have a view that is unique to you on what is currently happening on the planet.

The story doesn’t really matter in terms of why this is happening. The important thing is that it IS happening, and we all have the opportunity to move into a totally new way of thinking, feeling, and Being that is much grander and loving than ever before!

As the Hopi Indians say, “We are the Ones we’ve been waiting for.”
