Blessed Thinning Veils time!
I love that phrase.
I learned it from Rain Crow of Refugia Village Mystery School as a way to include all the different global traditions that recognize this as a special time with our Ancestors and Beloved Dead.
The Theatre Oracle Card we’ve been given for the month of November 2025, or whenever this comes to you, is:
Lie Down
The current title of this card feels so forceful!
Lie down.
Though it could be a kind invitation. Tone is not shown through punctuation.
This semi supine shape is in figure four, with the right booted ankle at the left knee. Arms outstretched. Feet downhill – this audience aisle is surprisingly and deceptively steep.
It’s an odd thing to do in this place. This is not where yoga or Feldenkrais, or a lay down are expected to happen. One expects the audience to be walking in and out, maybe some performers to come into the audience breaking the 4th wall, or stagehands to be assembling scaffolding to hang movers off the balcony rail.
This is unexpected, though a perfectly clear space for this reset. Stretch. Release.
Remembering our Oracle Card for May, Warm Up, it’s a very similar shape this month. But there are a lot of differences: different clothing/costume, different part of the theatre, different leg shape, different slope of the land.
Still, we know when our body needs to lie down.
So do it anyway, even in different circumstances, different clothing, listen to your body’s needs this November.
When you need that rest, take that rest.
It’s an important part of the cycle.
