Starcodes for the week of November 21-27, 2025
Thanksgiving is the archetypal Sagittarian holiday, a time when we’re supposed to be generous, share with one another, eat until we’re overflowing, count our blessings, and find ways of speaking truthfully but without putting our foot in our mouth and insulting relatives, all idealized Sagittarian traits.
The weekend starts with an outspoken, distracting, restless Sagittarius Moon, and as the Sun enters Sagittarius, both can make it hard to concentrate but are good for holiday preparations. Just don’t let small details get in the way of loving our connections.
Sagittarius is the mutable fire sign whose symbol is a Centaur, half human- half wild creature, always restless and usually moving. Thanksgiving is the most traveled, potentially traffic-jammed holiday, and both travel and diplomacy could be particularly tricky in this Mercury retrograde season.
Mercury has retrograded back into Scorpio and sidles up to Venus in Scorpio on Monday. Sagittarius is the most open, outgoing, occasionally superficial, frankly honest sign, while Scorpio is the most private, introspective, deep, and barbed of signs. So yes, this week brings some deeply mixed signals. Our emotions intertwine with our words, which can bring for heartfelt retrospective musings, poetry, but also subjective arguments which use scorpionic barbs and withholding when things get difficult. People will also get mean if we cross their boundaries without permission, so knock before entering another person’s psyche or into their stories.
Our first trick to balance that Sagittarius and Scorpio energy will be to stay honest with ourselves about how we feel and what we think, then choose tactfully when and where to speak. And remember everybody is walking with their own deep inner concerns, whether in their life’s unfolding or about our country’s direction.
But within that, this year brings a wonderful holiday to go back to what’s familiar, investigate our internal worlds, revive old recipes, or talk about ancient family history. Because of the touchy transits, some conversations can get highly charged. When in doubt, go back further to find some common ground.
Remember with Mercury retrograde, when it’s time to cook, read that recipe through a couple of times before starting, make sure the salt and sugar are clearly delineated, and if snafus happen anyway, enjoy the joke. Let it be a good story at the dinner table.
On Sunday, the Moon enters competent Capricorn and helps us strategize – whether we’re planning a Costco shopping trip or wrangling international politics. People will tend to resist being told what to do, watch that tendency to manipulate and ask for volunteers instead of assigning chores.
On Tuesday through early Thursday, a collaborative Aquarius Moon with stubborn but steady aspects encourage teamwork. With Mercury retrograde a schedule is an illusion, a mere suggestion, work with what actually unfolds. Prioritize sensitive feelings and our shared camaraderie, warmth is what we need most this year. The Moon enters sensitive Pisces midday on Thanksgiving which can bring out a sweetness, and probably a few tears, on Thanksgiving Day itself.

Friday, November 21: It’s time to shift gears and refresh. We’ll feel ready for a change, for a break in routine as the Sun opposes Uranus, trines Neptune, then joins the Moon and Mars in restless Sagittarius. It can be hard to stick in there and finish some ongoing responsibilities, like work or school, but we can help ourselves concentrate earlier in the day by seeing our project as finite and bribe ourselves with freedom once it’s complete. Tonight, don’t even try to get work done, impatience or anxiousness can wind people up, encourage people to speak or act without thinking, and we’ll be better off dancing, packing cooking, moving. Keep the compassionate heart connected to the witty mind.
Moon conjunct Mars 4:12 AM MST, Sun opposed Uranus 5:25 AM, Sun trine Neptune 6:05 AM, Ceres stationary direct, Sun enters Sagittarius 6:35 PM.
Saturday, November 22: This is an importantly strategic day even with Mercury retrograde; Mercury forms a grand trine with Saturn and Jupiter encouraging us to think both big and pragmatic. Engage important conversations, finish necessary papers and projects. Sure, strategize the holiday but also bring that expansive practical mindset to life’s bigger challenges. Take thoughtful action this afternoon as the Moon enters competent Capricorn, just do not be tempted to manipulate others. Watch out for big manipulative political situations in the world dynamics.
Moon square Saturn 6:13 AM MST, Mercury trine Saturn 11:45 AM, Moon square Neptune 2:47 PM, Moon enters Capricorn 3:52 PM, Mercury trine Jupiter 4:37 PM.
Sunday, November 23: The Sun sextiles Pluto and asks us what matters and what does not, this clarification could help us put that competent Capricorn Moon into full gear. Do not obsess with details that don’t matter, nor stick to plans when they need to flex. Release the flotsam; clear the refrigerator for this week’s food and throw away equally molding regrets and resentments to create room for future gratitude.
Sun sextile Pluto 12:19 PM MST.
Monday, November 24: Our emotions and our words intertwine subjectively as Mercury quincunx Chiron then conjuncts Venus in Scorpio and forms a loose grand trine with Saturn and Jupiter. Designs, creative projects, and final papers gain traction, but speak carefully and watch a potential desire to sting where we don’t feel safe. Intentionally invoke gentleness, speak poetically rather than curse with vigor. Engage the healing power of expressing a personal truth but be careful where and how it lands because the cleanup could be difficult.
Mercury quincunx Chiron 5:03 MST, Moon sextile Venus 12:24 PM, Moon sextile Mercury 1:27 PM, Moon opposed Jupiter 5:11 PM, Moon sextile Saturn 5:48 PM, Venus conjunct Mercury 6:51 PM.
Tuesday, November 25: Honor a brief morning heartache as the Moon enters Aquarius and conjuncts Pluto, Venus quincunx Chiron, and together stir up heart-tugging memories or a fear that something didn’t get done or that we are not enough for this moment. Let it flow, forgive oneself, then move towards a potentially powerful midday. Collaboration furthers. Engage personal and political questions about how we can stay responsible to all the people and still take care of our personal business. Focus on healing rather than perfection.
Moon trine Uranus 1:51 AM MST, Moon sextile Neptune 2:09 AM, Moon enters Aquarius 3:15 AM, Venus quincunx Chiron 4:25 AM, Moon conjunct Pluto 6:44 AM, Sun sextile Moon 1024 AM.
Wednesday, November 26: Practice random acts of creativity and kindness this busy traveling day as Venus trines Jupiter and Saturn. Acts of love are acts of helpfulness, so make other lives easier. Let someone cut into traffic and suddenly a place is found for you in the next traffic jam. Mercury is retrograde so allow extra time for everything and keep plans loose enough to be able to improvise on the spot. Work around crankiness and klutziness as the Moon squares Mars tonight, keep a sense of humor close by and keep our interpersonal priorities clear.
Venus trine Jupiter 9:31 AM MST, Moon sextile Mars 10:20 AM, Venus trine Saturn 4:47 PM, Moon square Mercury 8 :12 PM.
Thursday, November 27: Our hearts are full on this busy morning. Roll with last minute change of plans midday as the Moon squares Uranus; improvise around minor snafus. We step into our feelings this afternoon as the Moon enters sensitive Pisces and may feel less organized, more thin-skinned, sensitive to those overly-frank comments, so honor tender feelings and be liberal with supportive compliments. If awkward moments arise, reach into the past to share heartwarming memories. Ponder what traditions need to be carried forward and what to let go of in the future. Think about good examples of leadership in the family- or in the community of the family is lacking- and consider how each one of us can help lead in a good direction as Saturn turns direct after a long retrograde.
Moon square Venus 4:31 AM MST, Moon square Uranus 10:52 AM, Moon enters Pisces 12:23 PM, Saturn stations direct 8 51 PM, Moon square Sun 11:58 PM.
