Holy Note

holy note poem

Surely the One who made
light and day,
heaven and birds,
made you–
no mistakes,
no scratch-outs,
no margin left empty.

God didn’t draft you.
Didn’t sketch you in pencil.
You were inked with purpose.

Bless.

Before I Lie (Book baby, 2025), is a poetry collection with a mosaic of poems, affirmations, art illustrations, and short stories that bear witness to the scars we inherit and the healing we dare to choose. From Black girlhood in South Minneapolis to the frontlines of self-worth, spirituality, and resistance, it is about what it means to rise from silence and claim your voice. Before I Lie is a lyrical testimony shaped by personal survival, memory, and truth-telling. Copy of the book is available at Next Chapter Booksellers, American School of Storytelling, Griot Arts, Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.
