Starcodes for the week of December 12-18, 2025

Get those sleigh bells out, make travel plans, and look for hidden truths which need to be spoken. Lies and obvious obfuscation can bring out allergic hives this week and it can be a real challenge to keep opinions to ourselves. It will be important to consciously infuse a touch of diplomacy to bring up those truths close to home as Mercury joins the Sun, Venus, and Mars in frank, outspoken, and restless Sagittarius.

Sagittarius energy is known both for great storytelling and for great honesty but sometimes has trouble telling the difference. For a Sagittarian, a Sagittarian Moon like the present president, or any of us under this Sagittarius line-up, to lie to others they usually have to lie to themselves first. Some find that easier to do than others. We can only be as honest with the world as we are with ourselves, so let’s start there. Be willing to introspect and be honest with our own discomforts, failings, and strengths, first, and then carry that honesty outwards.

The symbol for Sagittarius is a Centaur, the travelling half human half animal, and reminds us to connect to the natural world and remember that we are global citizens first. How this can read locally is that it’s a great weekend to get out of the house, investigate other cultures, watch a parade, do anything that helps us step outside of our normal routines. Travel to a distant relative or to a different mindset. Just watch the weather as it will likely stay odd and unpredictable this winter. Also- tune into what’s going on into the ecosystem and the restless tectonic plates.

On Sunday Mars quincunx Uranus and squares Neptune which can take us out of gear and ask us to take a break from the momentum in our lives rest. We may have to let go of something that no longer serves us to set a new direction.

Take this time to renew, deck the halls, connect with Spirit, and get ready to jump into a new chapter on Monday. Mars enters Capricorn where it infuses extra determination and ambition. The goat of Capricorn wants a mountaintop to climb towards.

If we hurt anyone’s feelings by being brutally if cheerfully honest over the weekend, we may have to pay a price early next week. The Moon also enters focused and reactive Scorpio on Monday, and while that Moon/Mars combination will just give most of us a little extra focus, we may get some backlash or see nasty patterns in the headlines around ambition and revenge. Expect political unrest in reaction to some Neptunian obfuscation or distortion of facts.

On Wednesday, the Moon joins that lineup in Sagittarius and restores a taste of seasonal frivolity but adds fuel to the ongoing fires of political discontent. The Sagittarius lineup encourages us to travel, whether that’s to a distant relative or to a different mindset or political scenario. What fresh horizon do we need.

Starcodes reading week of January 12 through 18 by Heather Roan Robbins

Friday, December 12: We can overthink under this morning’s nervy Virgo Moon energy and need to listen for incoming information that may change our plans. If we need to get something off our chest, send that e-mail or bring up a tough topic, let’s make sure the other person is ready to hear so we can let our seeds of wisdom fall on fertile ground. The mood softens and the holidays seem nearer by midday as the Moon enters aesthetic Libra. Find convivial company. Just be careful tonight around distracted driving, mechanical difficulties, or earthquakes; put on hold sudden impulses and prioritize safety as Mars quincunx Uranus overnight.

Moon square Mars 4:55 AM, Moon trine Uranus 6:19 AM, Moon opposed Neptune 7:50 AM, Moon enters Libra 9:03 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 11:01 AM, Moon trine Pluto 1:19 PM.

Saturday, December 13: If our tails are twitchy this morning, let’s let that friendly, sensuous Libra Moon help move past potential irritation and temper flares as Mars quincunx Uranus. Be honest but proactive; don’t just complain, improve the situation. This afternoon, pay attention to the brighter sparks, the few favorite things. Beautify. Make gifts. Tonight, focus on good priorities and deeper questions, as Mercury sextiles Pluto and the Moon sextiles Venus. Let gratitude swell up and overflow for what bring glowing warmth to life.

Mars quincunx Uranus 2:43 AM, Mercury sextile Pluto 9:13 AM, Moon sextile Venus 5:53 PM.

Sunday, December 14: We can feel forgetful. It can be a frustrating day if we have a packed agenda or are trying to hold on to a specific path. Mars squares Neptune and can leave us out of gear and floating on a Sunday morning. Instead, prioritize health, connection, and renewal in this day between chapters. Rest, dream, and engage a spiritual life. Putter and create. Release some anger held by habit, release a goal which is no longer relevant. Ponder what nurtures ourselves and our world as Mercury trines Ceres and put effort there. Feed the soul.

Mars square Neptune 4:43 AM, Moon sextile Sun 6:19 AM, Moon square Jupiter 7:33 AM, Sun quincunx Jupiter 7:29 PM, Mercury trine Ceres 8:35 PM, Moon sextile Mars 8:35 PM, Moon enters Scorpio 8:50 PM.

Monday, December 15: A new work chapter begins; the Scorpio Moon loans us the ability to focus and concentrate- if we are not obsessed with some mote in our eye- while motivating Mars gets busy in competent Capricorn and brings traction to our determination. Just watch those strange obsessions and flashes of retribution or other strong responsive emotions which can surprise us and push us off target. Stay proactive rather than reactive, set personal goals, and get moving. If we disagree with world events or opinionated people, let’s bear witness but don’t let them waste our time or define the paradigm.

Mars enters Capricorn 12:33 AM, Moon squares Pluto 1:23 AM.

Tuesday, December 16: Stay on target as the Sun squares Saturn, minor difficulties are part of building up soul muscles today. It can be easy to get depressed if we think things should be easy but work on our personal projects can be deeply satisfying. Work it through. Engage the national discussion on the use and misuse of authority and take an opportunity to reclaim personal authority. We know what we know.

Moon trine Jupiter 7:45 PM, Sun square Saturn 9:33 PM.

Wednesday, December 17: Check what’s changed overnight as the Moon opposes Uranus and trines Neptune early this morning. Don’t drop the ball on new projects but do be ready to shift gears and willingly adventure as the Moon enters Sagittarius. Don’t take a simple answer but do look farther out of field than usual. Relationships can feel constrictive but that’s probably more our attitude than reality; cheerfully negotiate needed leeway. A person’s need for time to themselves does not reflect on their love for those around them.

Moon trine Saturn 12:29 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 6:25 AM, Moon trine Neptune 8:23 AM, Moon enters Sagittarius 9:38 AM, Moon sextile Pluto 12:19 PM.

Thursday, December 18: We can easily feel claustrophobic, want to feel untrapped and have choice in our country, work, or loving relationships. It can be profoundly healing to give our beloveds some loving space and acceptance, encourage their expansion in the world as Venus quincunx Jupiter and trines Chiron under the restless Sagittarius Moon. Hold hands and either travel together or be happy to hear their stories later in the day, but don’t close the barn door on a beloved.

Moon conjunct Mercury 3:01 AM, Venus trine Chiron 2:16 PM, Venus quincunx Jupiter 6:44 PM
