Starcodes for the week of July 31 – August 6, 2026
Welcome to Lammas, Lughnasadh, mid-summer, traditionally time of first harvests, country fairs, and forest fires. This whole summer sketches short-term, sweet, lightweight personal planetary dances over profoundly transforming long-term patterns.
This transformation probably won’t go easily, lemonade in the garden is underlined by issues of real mortality and dueling egos around the globe as Jupiter opposes Pluto. Real change is possible, but not because we all wake up and figure out the solution, not voluntarily but in response to a real challenge. Conflicts in the Mideast could involuntarily pry us away from fossil fuels at the cost of war. Forest fires encourage drought tolerant vegetation but impoverish our landscapes while change-inducing Uranus trines deep Pluto and they both sextile visionary, watery Neptune all year long.
Let’s take this inwards; where in our lives are we experiencing a challenge which gives us an opportunity, awkward as it is may be, to leap forward in our own evolution. To do this we need to be honest about what’s working and what’s not, honest about where our chosen path will take us and be open to adjustment.
We can tell some great personal stories against this dramatic world history. Mercury in sensitive Cancer encourages intimate conversations, the Sun and Jupiter in expressive, entertaining Leo can add panache to those stories and make those community festivals look good.
Venus in Virgo helps improve ourselves, our work, and our garden, and can leave us loving but prickly as it squares talkative Mars in Gemini. We could notice some out-of-synch quality in our relationships, strange timings or off rhythms as Venus and Mars square off this week in Mercurial signs. Let’s not take it personally and instead work around the timing issues and strengthen those connections. Otherwise, we can use words to defend ourselves rather than to understand and stressed relationships could find more opportunities to separate than reconnect. We could also experience some internal disharmony about how socially engaged we are, the Leo and Mars in Gemini pull us out to the crowds, while that Mercury in Cancer and Venus in Virgo may choose to stay home at the last minute.
The weekend begins under a sensitive, nostalgic Pisces Moon. On Sunday, the Moon enters activating Aries to help us gear up for a bold and active week with moments of bravery. The world will feel flammable as it adds heat to the fires around the globe and to the fiery conflicts.
The Moon enters Taurus late Tuesday and can settle our mood into grounded stubbornness. The week ends on thoughtful note, with a chance for mature decisions as Venus enters its home sign of peace, beauty, and justice loving Libra while the Sun trines sane and solid Saturn.

Friday, July 31: Maudlin sensitivity can help us see the world’s harshness and trigger us to long for a day gone by or better times ahead but leave us feeling strangely passive about how to get there. A Pisces Moon sensitizes us to the world’s harshness but also makes it harder to respond without acting out or looking through rose-colored glasses for an escape. Even if we disagree with people close to us, we can be moved to listen with an open heart and make small achievable improvements this afternoon as that Moon squares Uranus. Reach for some familiar warmth, camaraderie, or socialization tonight.

Saturday, August 1: On one layer, this could be a sweet, slow day to celebrate summer’s peak through a ceremony, bountiful county fair, game, or just lemonade in the garden. If we give people room, they may be unusually able to verbalize their feelings or concerns as the sensitive Pisces Moon trines Mercury, both in water signs, but our tender hearts can feel scrubbed by sandpaper if anything snags it. Go gently, let’s not punish other people for our own sensitivities, instead make it safe to be tender. If we don’t, late night arguments over hurt feelings are likely as the Moon squares Mars and opposes Venus overnight.
Moon Trine Mercury, 8:58 PM MDT.
Sunday, August 2: We might feel raw or disjointed this morning after the Pisces Moon squares Mars and opposes Venus. Review overnight dreams as they could offer clues to whatever we’re having trouble integrating or coordinating. Midday, the mood is sweet but touchy; puttering can help re-orient us. Momentum cranks up later, events can feel drastic as the Moon heads into Aries and starts talking to Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus, bringing our minds to the big issues of our time. We do not need to add drama, there is plenty in the headlines; bring a steady head and practical solutions to the table.
Moon square Mars 3:31 AM MDT, Moon oppose Venus 6:32 AM, Moon enters Aries 2:36 PM, Moon sextile Pluto 10:10 PM, Moon conjunct Neptune 10:22 PM, Moon sextile Uranus, 11:55 PM.
Monday, August 3: We could chafe against our responsibilities this morning but are capable of doing a great job once we kick into gear. Rein in abrupt actions as the impulsive Aries Moon trines Jupiter, spontaneous ideas could either spark joy or create snafus, so be open to sudden new ideas but take a minute to think them through. Same with honesty, speak up and keep it real, just know that defenses trigger easily; let’s say what we mean but not overshoot the mark. Some event could require we review lessons we learned the hard way, either personal or political, and apply what we’ve learned as Chiron turns retrograde, or we’ll find ourselves back at that same conundrum to rehash and relearn in the weeks ahead. Acknowledge a serious, thoughtful, or just tired moment around dinner time as the Moon conjunct Saturn.
Moon trine Jupiter 4:20 am MDT, Moon trine Sun, 11:24 AM, Chiron turns retrograde 2:10 pm, Moon conjunct Saturn, 5:21 pm.
Tuesday, August 4: Our attention span can be short but focused; take breaks and return refreshed. Find a good use for impatience, let it drive improvement but don’t let it feed ego issues nor arrogance about how another should live. It’s easy to get impatient with other people’s life choices when it’s really ours that frustrates us. Rhythms become steadier towards dinner as the Moon approaches Taurus. It’s a hard day to change minds, but we can share comfort, appreciation, and joy.
Moon square Mercury 816 AM MDT, Moon sextile Mars 12:51 PM, Moon enters Taurus 8:35 PM.
Wednesday, August 5: Work steadily but not quickly, the tortoise wins this race. Engage all things stable and solid, dangle feet in cool water and enjoy. Creature comforts soothe the nerves. Praise good behavior but offer no advice unless asked for. Headlines whisper of inevitability like a glacier moving, but this is an illusion; changing the course would just take a lot of work. Influence the flow of history rather than trying to stop it. Touch and body comfort can soothe our nerves under this earthy Taurus Moon; it’s a good day for a massage or paddling in cool water. Underneath this comfort-seeking could be friction with our beloveds, we may think they’re wonderful but just happen to mention the one thing they need to fix, and they are not open to it now while Venus finishes its run in Virgo. Drop it; walk away from bad behavior and praise the good, save the fine-tuning for later.
Moon square Pluto 3:43 AM, MDT, Moon square Jupiter 10:33 AM, Moon square Sun, 8:21 PM.
Thursday, August 6: Feel a shift towards kindness and the beauty way as Venus enters Libra. Our prickles calm, our inner porcupine quiets, but our emotional expectations could grow more insistent. Venus in Libra brings new diplomatic abilities where we are willing to use it, it won’t demand improvement but will require fairness, equality, and diversity, and will gladly support efforts to make mature decisions as the Sun trines Saturn.
Venus enters Libra 1:12 PM MDT, Moon sextile Mercury, 5:24 PM, Sun trine Saturn 8:43 PM.
