Starcodes for the week of August 21-27, 2026

The first leaves begin to change, school supplies beckon, and our minds turn to the work ahead as both the Sun and Mercury enter Virgo this week and mark a shift towards autumnal concerns. On Thursday Both Sun and Mercury oppose the Moon in sensitive, perceptive Pisces for a Full Moon Lunar eclipse, and all three form a square to change-inducing Uranus for an emotional high tide which calls for transformation.

Virgo helps us learn to sort, sort the seeds at harvest and decide what to keep and plant next year, what to eat now, and what to feed to animals. Virgo rules the guts; it models our ability to absorb nutrients, release waste, and discern the difference between the two. The negative Virgo stereotype is one who focuses on problems, but its main gift is to help us identify and absorb soul nutrients. This complex Virgo discerning and sorting process is key to all other forms of healing.

Take this metaphor home. Sort possessions, thoughts, habits, and sift through the world’s politics. Contemplate what is complete or not good for us, toxic even, and needs to be released. Ponder what and who nurtures us and needs to be treasured. Venus, now in lovely Libra, can infuse us with the beauty of this moment and the importance of our connections. With this Venus, art therapy furthers; if we can’t express how we feel to the people in our lives let’s pour it into our creative process.

The weekend starts off upbeat under a Sagittarius Moon, gets more serious on Saturday as Venus opposes Saturn and asks us to practice good relationship skills even when we feel cranky. The Sun enters Virgo on Saturday and the fall season feels closer. We can feel like we’re doing our homework and don’t really want others to point out our faults. So go gently with any critical feedback, tell people how an action affects you, not what they’re doing wrong.

Midweek the Moon enters communal Aquarius on Tuesday morning as thoughtful Mercury enters Virgo, it’s time to contemplate our responsibilities to our teams or community and ponder what needs adjustment. Be very kind to the nervous system and to the guts as this brilliant Mercury can wind us up. Consider worst case scenarios and prepare for all possibilities but remember they are not probabilities. Bring the mind to the best-case scenarios and aim there.

Full Moons highlight an apparent dichotomy, a place where we might feel the need to choose between the Sun or the Moon’s concerns, but in reality, we need to find a third, synthesizing way through. This coming Full Pisces Moon – Lunar eclipse points to the Virgoan sorting habit as opposite to our sensitive, vulnerable self. The key can be to find how Details support a dream, how our critical thinking can make it safe to empathize, how we can balance personal responsibility instead of wallowing in guilt and blame. Let the light shine in and illuminate what needs to be adjusted so those opposing skills support one another.

starcodes reading for August 21 through 27 by Heather Roan Robbins

Friday, August 21: Enjoy this last full day of summery vibes as the restless Sagittarius Moon trines the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter, all in expressive, indulgent Leo. Laugh, reminisce, explore, and make beautiful memories to hold through the seasons. Later on, appreciate reliable friends and keep the heart warm even if feeling impatient or feeling the weight of a coming responsibility. Some delays in a heart-centered or artistic project can weigh on us as Venus opposes Saturn, but melodrama won’t help. Deal with essentials now but wait to strong-arm with work in the week ahead. Find ways of enjoying one another’s company and let that be a memory to hold through the seasons.

Moon trine Jupiter 1:25 AM MDT, Venus opposed Saturn 6:42 AM, Moon trine Saturn 7:02 AM, Moon sextile Venus 7:03 AM., Moon square Neptune 10:47 PM.

Saturday, August 22: Morning lingers in summer vibes, enjoy a moment outside with some iced tea. A need to get organized and get to work kicks in as the Moon enters industrious Capricorn and the Sun enters thoughtful Virgo this afternoon. Don’t expect everybody to switch gears at exactly the same moment, whether shopping for school clothes or completing some ongoing summer project, enjoy the feeling of muscles in use but don’t be impatient with others whose process differs. Crankiness will not further, empathy and efficiency will. Tonight, drop the business and reminisce about the summer or dream about the coming season as the Moon squares Neptune.

Moon trine Mercury 2:21 AM MDT, Moon trine Sun 2:30 PM, Moon enters Capricorn 2:58 PM, Sun enters Virgo 8:18 PM MDT, Moon square Neptune 10:47 PM.

Sunday, August 23: We can start out a bit cranky, our defenses prickle quickly and we get irritated if things don’t feel just right around our home as the Capricorn Moon opposes Mars in Cancer and the Sun trines Chiron. Don’t get irritable, get busy; take personal responsibility to make things feel right and get organized for the week ahead. Some anxiety can arise when we look ahead at a coming work or challenge and can calm down when we are basically prepared. Control issues complicate international relations, but we do not need to emulate. Clarify the goals for the day, then rein in a tendency to micromanage others, particularly tonight as the Moon squares Saturn.

Moon opposed Mars 7:04 AM MDT, Sun trine Chiron 1:29 PM, Moon square Saturn 7:20 PM.

Monday, August 24: Catch up and get organized. Let’s prioritize relationships as much as we do efficiency rather than see them at odds as the competent Capricorn Moon squares diplomatic Venus in Libra. Step back from any tendency to just be people-pleasing but do it with kindness rather than argumentative defense. Don’t argue, do stand in strength. We can be the authority of our own life, make healthy decisions, and feel like a force to be reckoned with, but choose a worthy cause.

Moon square Venus 12:29 AM MDT.

Tuesday, August 25: The past can haunt us, prior decisions, conversations or scenarios, remembering who we used to be as Mercury conjuncts the South nodes, Enters Virgo, and trines Chiron, under a spacious Aquarius Moon. Don’t get lost processing the past, do scan and see if any reparations need to be made or lessons remembered for the future. Correct with work that needs to be done in the community.

Moon enters Aquarius 3:01 AM MDT, Mercury conjunct the South node 3:04 AM, Mercury enters Virgo 5:03 AM, Moon conjunct Pluto 10:10 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 10:32 AM, Mercury trine Chiron 12:56 PM, Moon trine Uranus 2:01 PM.

Wednesday, August 26: Notice a need for more room, whether in relationships, house, or in our world’s politics as the Aquarius Moon opposes Jupiter. If so, don’t overshoot the mark and throw everything out, instead engage practical, concrete solutions as the Moon sextiles Saturn and trines Venus. Start with more room in the garden or closet. On a more personal level we can create more room for our souls by making it safe for others to unpack and live up to their potential.

Moon opposed Jupiter 3:31 AM MDT, Moon sextile Saturn 6:20 AM, Moon trine Venus 3:59 PM.

Thursday, August 27: Feelings run high tide, some awareness of our vulnerability calls for change as the Moon waxes full in sensitive Pisces, the Moon is eclipsed, and both Sun and Moon square Uranus at 10:18 PM MDT. Batten the hatches and do emotionally leveling activities, think about what builds personal emotional resilience and make sure to weave that into the day. This sensitive flood can bring a new level of emotional honesty, and if a situation truly feels done, it helps us let go and make profound changes. This eclipse can spotlight any conflict between our practical life and our emotional needs but wants us to support both. We can feel the call of this Moon particularly strongly if we have a planet around 4 to 5° of a mutable sign: Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces, or Gemini.

Sun conjunct Mercury 11:03 AM MDT, Moon enters Pisces 1:03 PM, Moon sextile Chiron 2:13 PM, Moon opposed the Sun – Lunar eclipse 10:18 PM, Moon opposed Mercury 11:20 PM, square Uranus 11:39 PM.
