We come to the end of Sagittarius season and are holding both the past and the future in our hands. Now is the time to look back over our experience this past year and synthesize what we have learned into wisdom to use for our future.
That’s the job of Sagittarius; to extract what lessons we can from every single life experience we have had this past year, years, or lifetimes. Then, infuse that wisdom with enthusiasm and optimism and life-force so that Capricorn has a worthwhile mission for next year. That’s why I consider Sagittarius to be the last sign. Sagittarius synthesizes life experience into meaning and purpose offered to the next Cycle beginning at Winter Solstice. (12/21/25, 9:02am CST)

Coincidentally, this New Moon is closely aligned with the Galactic Center, a super colossal black hole at the center of our galaxy. Until we get there, we may never know where it goes. (There are theories.) It’s a Mystery. The GREAT Mystery. Gitchimanitou in Anishinabwemowin. The Sacred Mystery.
As the Sun and Moon dance around the black hole at the center of the galaxy, and we align with the greatest mysteries of existence, the meaning and purpose of it all, what have we concluded…Life sucks? Life is beautiful? Life is exactly what I say it is?
Aldous Huxley said one of the meanings of life is kindness. I like that answer. The world needs more of it. Love is the answer. We can be the answer. It doesn’t have to make sense.
So, we commit to our existence and learn how to thrive in adversity as we learn to innovate and individuate. We find enthusiasm and inspiration. We find our power of choice. We imbibe the sunlight and the compost and grow. We branch out with curiosity.
We learn about the power of love.We celebrate our existence. We master the art of the harvest. We master the art of relating to self and other. We confront our mortality and remember the sacredness of life.
We all have those experiences with us. They all can be transformed into wisdom. In each, we choose expansion, even in times of contraction. We listen to the cycles, dance along, and contribute what music we can with our own unique instrument of self.
This Sagittarian philosophy becomes the embryo contained in the seed which is handed off to Capricorn at the rebirth of the Sun, the beginning of the next solar year, in a couple short days.
With this New Moon, consider what you’re putting into that seed you will be planting and tending next year. This synthesizing of experience into meaning and intention is our most important and sacred hour. Let that meaning be resonant with words like kindness, love, healing, and the best expression of who you came here to be, and all will be well.
